This is a rant: R.I.P. Reid Oliver, you, beautiful man, you!!

Okay, so, you know that sometimes, you post a rant somewhere and you're all impressed with your own epic rant? Well, that happened today. Today, the most awesome character in the history of EVER (Seriously, in the history of EVER), died a horrible death, after he was run over by a train, because he couldn't unbuckle his seatbelt... I know.... But don't blame my awesome überdoc for this. No. Blame Chris Hughes, blame Katie Snyder. Blame TPTB for writing this. Blame P&G and blame CBS for not letting them have sex.  Blame whoever decided that the tv trope of a "tragic gay ending" was THE way to go. The way to end a 54-year-old show, leaving the three gay characters dead (Reid), devastated (Luke) and alone (Noah), because Luke needs to grow up and become a "real man". Funny, I thought he already was a real man and had already grown SO much since meeting Reid.

Reid also had to die because the show's "sweetheart" (UGHHH, Katie) needed a happy ending with a guy who spent weeks pressuring her to have sex with him and to grieve faster, while knowingly having a fatal heart condition. Nothing says happy ending like "I lost my husband last year, my dear friend last week and my roommate today, while my boyfriend (true love #6) needs a heart transplant and will now be getting said roommate's heart".  Überdoc Reid Oliver had to be sacrificed for that, of course. He had to die, after he spent weeks helping Chris out with his heart and went to Bay City to get him a new heart, before his car stalled on the railroad tracks.

Anyway, all of the above isn't even a part of my rant XD. The rant of EPIC AWESOMENESS (Okay, not so much, but I liked it and I wanted to save it somewhere I'd be able to find it again.) is on its way:

I bawled my eyes out during this episode. Mostly because of Van and Eric, who were both incredible, partly because of how disgusted I was at the entire Hughes clan and partly because the writing sucked SO BAD. OMG, the extent of the shittyness of the writing for today...

Luke/Van Hansis broke my heart :(. Luke was so broken and in shock and I think it still hasn't hit him completely, that Reid is never coming back ='(. Van was so, so good and he's the only good thing (apart from ESS) about this episode. But Reid's death was so rushed! He died within the first twenty minutes and we/they barely got a chance to really say goodbye. But what we/they did get, was heartbreaking and I'm going to miss Reid soooo much.

And I can't believe everyone just let Luke wander like that. All alone, with no one except Katie (for, like, FIVE SECONDS, UGHHH) comforting him. And even then, Luke had to comfort Katie, because this is "As Katie's World Turns" and we all have to try to sit through Chris and Katie's epic romance without strangling someone. And Bob didn't even seem to care all that much, John was way too giddy about all of it, Tom was a cold, sick bastard today and Casey didn't even go and check if Luke was okay. And Alison couldn't wait to get in on the surgery. AND WHERE WERE LILY AND HOLDEN???? Assuming they haven't forgotten about him yet again.

I can't stand the Hughes family. I know they're the legacy family of Oakdale, but I can't stand them. Fucking vultures. I was so disgusted, when they stood in that room, with a crying and devastated Luke and braindead Reid, pressuring Luke like his grief meant nothing and when they all came into the room to take Reid's body away from Luke. At least Margo shed some real tears. And, while I appreciated Kim realizing that Reid was a good man, it was also a little too late. And don't even get me started on Chris, still not appreciating Reid's efforts and Katie and her "We all get our happily ever after"-shit. Really, TPTB? Are you fucking kidding me???

So, basically: Eleven months ago, I was upset about the cancellation. When I met Reid and "found" LuRe, I was devastated. And now I can't wait to say goodbye, because of this craptastic crapfest of an ending. Which is a shame, because I've watched this show since kindergarten.

Fuck those fucking nitwit fuckers who decided that THIS was the best they could do.
