Why is it that after my landlords just take us out to a nice farewell dinner, and one of them is trying to impart an experience that she had, that I have to go and talk about it, somewhat disparagingly, to another roommate only to find out that said landlord is listening and calls me back to explain?

I feel like such an ass.
