ok so retrospect some crazy things in france:
the toliet door says 'dames' for ladies
pay to park lots have metal bars that come up behind the car when the time runs out, and there are foot tall peices on the white lines
we saw a public bus nearly crush a car turning a corner
a random drunk man hung out with us and our two english friends for 5 minutes and told us life is like a cd player b/c its reuseable
saw multiple homeless women nursing their kids on the street for money
and thats all i remember off the top of my head
first night in a couchette/ sleeper was good - slept like a baby! we got to brussels this morning at 11, and made plans for zurich tomorrow, then amsterdam, and now we're planning for copenhagen, then berlin, then bamberg,... and rome/venice/italy somehow
brussels is cool to live in - theres a lot of artsy/trendy people and i bet there are some really good bars if we justknew where they were. as far as stuff to do as a tourist, not much, so between spending 24 hours here we're in a weird spot where we'd go out if knew it'd be good, but are also tired from walking around all day... etc. a kid we met in nice did tell us a really good bar to go to, but we couldnt find it today.
theres the grand place - the center of tourist town - where the town hall is from the 1500's and all the buildings of the guilds, which are now restuarants and stores except for the beer guild.
and the manekene pis - a statue of a little boy peeing... legend of the boy that peed on a fuse and kept the town from blowing up or something. apparently there is a girl squatting too to even the gender bias, and a dog, but we dont know where they are.
we're out of here tomorrow at noon for an 8 hour ride to zurich, switzerland! where i plan to buy a swiss army knife... possibly complete with a usb drive because they definitely make those now! but i bet its expensive
