You shouldn't speak ill of the dead but ...

Joh Bjelke-Petersen is dead. Well, he's been pretty harmless for a long time now, but he did plenty back in the 70s. I hear on the news that shops have closed in his honour today, the day of his funeral. And people have put up signs saying "Farewell, Sir Joh. We salute you." Hmmmm. Well, I suppose people voted for him, the same as they voted for Malcolm Fraser ..

Rene Rivkin is also dead. I don't really wish to speak ill of him except that he arrogantly thought that he was above the law because he had piles of money. I have heard recently that he suffered from bipolar disorder. Hmmmm. Maybe that is so, but a disorder that doesn't stop people making heaps of money, being dragged out to prevent the person from being punished for a crime ... forgive me for not being too sympathetic. Although it worked for Christopher Skase didn't it. Alan Bond at least got gaoled, but they still tried the illness on.

Maybe, I'm being too harsh ...
