(no subject)
Yay, the sun is out! I weigh 1lb more than I did the week before I went away: 3 weeks with 1lb net gain is obviously not very good, but I did overeat on holiday and I suppose 1lb isn't the end of the world. I now need to lose a stone and a half in 7 weeks ... er, this may be difficult ...
Finished the holiday photos - hooray! Watched the DVD of Pretty Woman: the unwatched DVD pile is going down! I've always liked that film. And finished reading The People's Act of Love by James Meek. It involved castration (religious sects in Russia are actually quite interesting - I used to read a lot about them at university) and cannibalism (which apparently wasn't uncommon amongst escaped prisoners but is however definitely not something I read/used to read a lot about) in Siberia in 1919 - which makes it sound very bizarre but it wasn't really.
I now need to write a rude letter to npower and a rude letter to Lufthansa. I shall think about the Office of Doom to put myself in a bad mood LOL! I also feel like writing a rude letter to the News of the World to complain about its stupid article about Sharon Osbourne supposedly carrying family feuds beyong the grave by arranging for her father to be buried in a "bleak concreted Manchester cemetery" (which is about 2 1/2 miles from my house) when he apparently wanted to be buried in Surrey with his late wife. If he's not been buried where he wanted then that's obviously very sad, but did it not occur to the stupid journalist who wrote the article that the "bleak concreted" description might be offensive to people living in the local area who knew people who're buried there? Stupid newspaper!
