M-Audio Studiophile Av30

Been using these speakers for a year or two, can't really remember. They had a bug which I later discovered which was also reported by other users on their bigger siblings Av40's. If only I wasn't lazy and returned them for another pair... But I could never be bothered with returns and postage unless items are completely faulty.
Speakers were giving a humm on 50Hz if you stay with them in the quite room. It is definitely a PSU transformer as they are active and PSU is built it. You can't really hear it if music is playing, but still it is not nice. The other bug that I noticed only after a year maybe that you can't completely turn the volume down.
Today I disassembled the speaker with power amp to check if there's something visibly wrong inside. Fortunately or unfortunately everything looked sound there. They are rather accurately assembled. Not absolutely accurate, but you can't ask for more for the price. The interesting thing is that when I assembled it back humm is almost gone and now only right speaker is not completely shut when I set volume to zero. Looks like a mechanical problem to me. Should I give it another try and get out and in again to try to fix them? :)
To be honest, I need an USB DAC for them. Built in audio is horrible indeed.
