I haven't written on here in forever. ::feels guilty:: However, I do try to read most of the posts on my flist. So I've been a silent observer lately. Sorry.
Christmas was really boring here. It really didn't seem as fun for some reason. Maybe it's because I really didn't do anything special -- no baking, no mall shopping, no holiday movies... Eh. Now there's a lot of fattening food around the house, though.
I went to Ulta (beauty store) and Best Buy today. Ulta is having some great deals for the next week or so. I also went out to eat at Taste of Scandinavia Bakery & Cafe. It was pretty good -- they had some really unique foods that I've never seen anywhere else. It's worth checking out if you're ever in central Minnesota.
Oh, and I wanted to ask this: Would you want to exchange or return an eyeshadow that had obviously been used?
Ulta is having a "buy 2 get 1 free" deal on the small selection of NYX Cosmetics products that they carry. I've heard a lot about how great their makeup is (for the most part) for the prices, so I couldn't resist getting three Trio Eyeshadows and three Ultimate Pearl Eyeshadows. I just noticed that one of the shadows in one of the Trio Eyeshadow palettes has been swiped with the applicator. Now, that's pretty fucking nasty to me. I mean, I can't possibly know if they touched the applicator on their skin or not, and a complete stranger was handling the applicator with their germy hands to begin with. I know the applicator can be washed and all, but that's possibly contaminating the whole inside of the palette. I know I sound like a paranoid germ-freak...but I am one! My mom says that it's not a big deal and I should just ignore it. Is she right? Ugh.
It sucks that they didn't seal the Trio Eyeshadows to begin with, but I assumed that they were since I noticed the Ultimate Pearl Eyeshadows were sealed. I won't be buying any non-sealed makeup products in any retail stores again, though it is hard to resist a sale or bargain.
And on the topic of makeup... I've been lemming a Nixie Cosmetics order really badly. Their Ultra Pearls look gorgeous! And the normal Mineral Eyeshadows come in so many colors. Can you imagine how many looks you can do with those?! They are a little on the pricey side, though, so I'm thinking that I may want to wait.
And I'm thinking about buying a Margaret Nicole bangle bag in black, but only if they have a New Years sale. I don't really want to buy one of those for full price. They're super adorable, though. You can even remove the ribbon and put in different ribbons (or a thin scarf or necklace) in its place. And because the bag is knitted, you can put pins or brooches on it, too. I only wonder about how to clean those. I'm guessing the wool is dry-clean only, but I want to know if you can hand wash the cotton one.
