Reasons Why I Dont Like The Academy Awards

1. Half of their nominated movies are good movies, and the other half are not great movies that only they like and no one else does.
2. They dont nominate the correct actors all the time, and they dont always award the "Best" actors.
3. Most of the awards is like politics. If a movie doesn't get nominated like hardly any actor or actress or director then it's not going to win Best Picture. If a movie has an actor or and actress that has a boatload of makeup and looks horribly disfigured, then they are going to win their category (IE: Charlize Theron in "Monster").
4. (now we get to specifics) In 1957, The Ten Commandments was nominated for Best Picture, and lost to Around the World in 80 Days. I wonder which one is remembered today? The Best Picture winner, or that other little film that was only nominated?
5. The Year Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King dominated the Academy Awards, Do you think that they thought ROTK was REALLY worth all of those awards, or was it merely just an apology for snubbing them the prior two ceremonies, for The Fellowship of the Ring, and The Two Towers? (though i'm not going to lie, seeing the Academy do that, pretty much made me feel great. Thats what you deserve for snubbing my movie!)
6. There were times when movie blockbusters, the big buck earners would be highly regarded at the ceremonies (IE: Titanic), but now they only make a point to put a little film that did better than was expected (IE: Little Miss Sunshine, Juno) up there amongst these other movies that America doesn't care about or like that much but the Academy liked for some reason (IE: Michael Clayton, There Will Be Blood. Both didn't get a lot of Box Office glory).

there are probably several other reasons, but i just needed to rant because i learned that The Ten Commandments were all but snubbed in the 1957 Academy Awards. Losing to Around the World in 80 Days. Got to be kidding me.

there will be blood, return of the king, charlize theron, titanic, academy awards, the fellowship of the ring, around the world in 80 days, monster, juno, michael clayton, two towers, little miss sunshine, the ten commandments, lord of the rings
