So, yesterday i learned that Oldest Friend got a boyfriend. She's been telling me for months about this guy and how shes fallen for him but he has this girlfriend in Canada. Within the past two weeks, he learned she liked him, she learned he is attracted to her, she learned this other co-worker had been urging him to break up with his girlfriend for Oldest Friend, he got jealous when she went on a date with another guy, he broke up with his girlfriend, and they made out...officially sealing their boy/girlfriend status.

Im super happy for her, especially after being there for her for months during her thing (and let me tell you, Oldest Friend doesn't crush on guys... like ever. I mean, she gets attracted to guys, but she never falls. She looks for cute guys, but it never goes any further than that. She doesn't need to be in a relationship and it never bothered her that she wasn't in one. To see her fall head over heels for a guy has been a new experience). I even met him the same day that i found out they were officially going out. He's a fun guy, but you can tell that all he wants to do is touch her... i mean, in a completely non-perverted way... he's always tickling her, poking her, or holding her hand, or holding her. He's constantly touching her whenever he's not occupied. It's really quite adorable. She is totally enamoured (enamored? whatever) with him too. It's cute. I noticed in the car (i was in the back seat while she was driving) that they were holding hands, and their thumbs were caressing the other. They were both off in their own worlds... she was driving, he was smoking... but their thumbs constantly caressed each other. For future reference, i'm calling him Poking Boyfriend.

The only problem was all i could think about was how far i have yet to go with Produce Guy. Here my friend is, with the guy she's been infatuated with for months, and i've still got so much ground to cover. I still melt when i notice that Produce Guy is looking at me. Allow me to use my race analogy again... she's made it to the finish line, and im at the halfway mark.

anyway, it really made me want a boyfriend. But doesn't every situation like this get me this way? Answer: YES.

poking boyfriend, produce guy, oldest friend, boyfriends, relationships
