This is how it works: Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation what the word means to you and why, and then pass out letters to those who want to play along.
I received the letter 'K' from
toasted_space :)
- KATE: as in, Winslet, Beckinsale, Bosworth, Hudson, Warner, and Austen. The best Kate's I know of.
- KANSAS CITY: is a city in Missouri, where I took my first vacation out of state without my parents. I went to see a concert (one i wont tell, because you'll make fun of me for it), and i bunked in a hotel room with my best friend (i haven't quite decided how to introduce my multitudes of friends to this journal yet, so i'll just call her MBF for now), which was at the Westin Hotel, which is swanky. It has a large indoor waterfall, rooms with the best beds i've ever slept on (down feather comforters, and like multitudes of comfy pillows), our window had a view of the outdoor pool which was on the fifth floor, and was connected to a mall. Needless to say, MBF and I had a little fun... best part of all was jumping onto the beds. I swear.
- KISSIMMEE: a city in Florida that is directly outside of Orlando, Flordia. We stayed at a hotel (cant remember its name) in Kissimmee and it was the best hotel i've ever stayed at... it was tropical, it had a Pizza Hut in it, an in-room fort for us kids (including bunk beds and TV's for us both), and the hotel offered transportation to the one and only Disneyworld, which just so happened to be the focus of our trip.
- KNOWLEDGE: and even more personally speaking, my thirst for useless facts. i love watching shows like Jeopardy and Who Wants to Be a Millionare? and all those shows that only geniuses can go on, because (even though i couldn't answer more than one question per episode), i find it all fascinating. I love those things. I really do love learning new things... i just wish i could learn to love the crap knowledge they've been trying to teach me in school/college
- KELLY (also spelled KELLI): I've come across many Kelly references in my life, but i was mainly trying to find a "K" that connected to Orlando Bloom... and he happened to be in a film called "Ned Kelly" co-starring with Heath Ledger who was the Ned-meister himself. Orlando was his best friend and womanizer Joseph Byrne. Also in that movie was Naomi Watts, whom i also happen to like a lot more than i have reason to. So... the film itself? I grade it a C+. It's a slow starter movie for sure, and they all have thick aussie accents (even British Bloom... who, during his first scene, i *almost* had problems understanding him because i wasn't expecting an Aussie accent out of him), but as the story develops and the crises develop and start to incline to the climax of the movie, you start feeling some heart to these outlaws who have to be outlaws and gave the early Australians courage, even when they ended up failing, theres this one scene where Heath and Orlando are robbing a bank, and while they're collecting the money, the "hostages" are all sitting around in the "lobby." They start getting testy, and Heath and Orlando tell them why they are doing what they are doing (they've become semi-famous at this point), and the hostages start feeling more like helping these guys, and they dont feel like "hostages" anymore... it was a touching scene where you really felt Ned Kelly's true heart for the first time in the movie, and from there the movie is very much more personable. I'm sure you also noticed that I also spelled Kelly, K-E-L-L-I. this is because i know someone of this name, but much like another situation earlier this entry, i wish not to go into further detail at this time.
- KIDS: lets face it... we all want one or a dozen. I want less than two, no more than four. I shall have a daughter named Rebecca, and I shall have a son named Mark. this is all i know... the rest is not up to me.
- KATYA: as in Dereveko. As in, Irina Dereveko's sister. As in, Sydney's backstabbing Aunt. As in very much my excuse for getting Alias onto this list. Plus, much like Irina Dereveko (Sydney's "whose side is she on anyway?!?" mother)... i absolutely adore her, and hope she makes an appearance on Alias before it goes. (Speaking of the Dereveko sisters, isn't it funny how all the alter-egos of the sisters are different nationalities, and none are true Russian? Lena Olin is Swedish, Isabella Rossellini is Italian, and Sonia Braga is Hispanic. Yet on the show, i can believe that they are sisters.)
- KISSES: what does this mean to me? i hear the word "kiss" and I instantly think of the words "my lack of"
- KEY: keys are pretty facinating right? well, what if you were told by King Mickey's, loyal guards that you'd be chosen by a mystical weapon to fight off people who lost their hearts and now steal other peoples hearts... AND go to all these cool Disney-esque worlds and protect them from Final Fantasy like evils? Sounds like fun right? well, this weapon, is a ginormous key. spiffy. i know. well, the more worlds you "lock", the more cooler key styles you get, and the more powerful too. SWEET! So, you get like a Halloweentown style key... an Atlantica style key... a Beauty and the Beast style key (which always is the prettier key, but not always the more practical key). Interested anyone? well, then you'd be happy to learn that there are two very addicting games out there called Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts 2, that are just like this! I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who likes a good game.
- KITTENS: cats are pretty much evil... kittens however, are NOT. Kittens dont know any better. Also, to plug another great TV show... vampires in Buffy the Vampire Slayer use kittens (NOT CATS), as currency when they bet in poker. This disgusts Buffy. I think its funny because i personally love it when Spike's all manly and tough shouting "I'LL PAY YOU YOU'RE DAMN KITTENS!!"
I do have to say, while i was googling cute kitten pictures, i happened to cross paths with this
message board, and i look at contests like these and i say... why are the message boards always so mean on imdb.com, and why cant they be more like those... i mean, i would love to take part in a contest which is between an adorably sweet french actress named Audrey Tautou and kittens. and in the closing of ANY cat talk...
we must end with this. it's a rule.
