THINGS THAT HAVE NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH EACH OTHER, I JUST FEEL LIKE MAKING A LIST:
---> Christina Aguilera can put on an awesome show. A+ Christina, A+.
--->The Pussycat Dolls actually can sing, much to my suprise. I was very very very very shocked. I thought they were just bubblegum.
--->The Pussycat Doll's lead singer Nicole Schwniwoenw.... however you spell her last name, was once engaged to Nick Hexum, and this has been freaking the hell out of me for a week. I still cannot believe it. If you dont know who Nick Hexum is, you probably dont live in Omaha, Nebraska, or you just dont know 311. Nick Hexum is the lead singer of 311 which is a reggae/rock/alternative band who is a HUGE musical success from Omaha, Nebraska. I have a personal affinity with Nick Hexum and PNut (another bandmate) because they both graduated from my high school. Also, Nick Hexum's father came into HV all the time when i worked there. So, i feel connected to him. Hence why it's freaking the hell out of me that Nick Hexum, cute, talented, omaha native, rock star was once engaged to Nicole Shchohwiobnewbao from The Pussycat Dolls, a sexy, provocative, ex-dance group turned commerical popstars. FREAKING ME OUT.
--->JENNIFER HUDSON WON AN ACADEMY AWARD! I'M SO EXCITED FOR HER! She's one of us. She's just a regular person and she went on a reality tv show, and won a part in a musical movie and is now a freaking academy award winner! I'm just excited.
--->MARTIN SCORCESE WON AN ACADEMY AWARD! FINALLY! I'm not a big Martin Scorcese fan when it comes to his movies, but i genuinely like the guy, and he's only been a huge contributer to film making since what, the 70's? And he's been nominated for an oscar like 23894728739875982 times, and has never won one until tonight. i'm very very very thrilled for him.
--->i called in sick on Saturday because: 1. i didn't feel like working, 2. i needed a few days at home because i've been feeling super stressed out about my job lately 3. the weather was going to be so bad that i would've been too afraid to drive home 4. i didn't feel right... like my whole body is tense and every time i move my back or my shoulder or my neck or my hips it was tense and i felt like i'd break. 5. i really really really wanted to stay home for a few days. I feel guilty but not too guilty.
--->The Academy Awards was a little strange tonight. They put all the boring awards first, and it seemed to drag right along. Also, lots of people seemed to screw up tonight, not that thats a horrible thing, but it's just strange for the Oscars. Anyway, i think Ellen DeGeneres did fantastic tonight though. absolutely fantastic. I think most of the right people won, i was kind of rooting for Ryan Gosling to win Best Actor though, and i was also rooting for Leo DiCaprio. I dont know, it was a tough category. But Jennifer Hudson won which was amazing, Helen Mirren won which was on the money, and Alan Arkin won which he totally deserved. So those three were on the money, and Martin Scorcese... which is magnificent. I also was right about Marie Antoinette winning the best costume design, and The Inconvenient Truth winning best documentary. I was however upset that The Departed won Best Picture over The Queen, but The Departed was a decent movie anyway... it was just completely litered with the "F" word. If it wasn't just completely "effed" over, it would've been a pretty great movie, also the ending needed a bit of a touch-up.
---> Notable things: Mary Lynn Rajskub who is Chloe O'Brian on 24 was briefly in Little Miss Sunshine, and James Badge Dale who was Chase Edmunds on 24 season 3, had a decent part in The Departed. I just thought that was interesting.
---> I dont really have anything else to say except, i wish i could take two weeks off at work. that would rule.
