Today is Clark Kent's first day of work.  I walked him in, took some pictures, and will be back to bring him his pork shoulder sandwich for lunch this afternoon.  In the meantime, I must fill 4 hours with no books (I didn't bring any books) and no tv.  So, here I am on the internet and amused that even google is different in the UK.  Today Google is decorate and the little caption reads, "The Queen visits Google today."  A couple of days ago, Paddington Bear joined forces with Google.

This is the first day in our three month marriage that one of us has had to leave the other to go to work.  That's kind of unique, huh?  I guess the vacation is over.  I've applied for a library assistant job and I'm crossing all fingers and toes it will be mine!  To work 18 hours a week in the on campus library?  A dream job.

The search for a flat has proved daunting.  The most perfect flat with the most perfect landlord is no longer available.  We talked it over last night and will probably agree to move in to Flat 1 of Bridges Hall for next month - temporarily.  Though this flat is on campus and right across from the noisiest bunch of undergraduates we've ever seen/heard, it does face a different direction than our current dorm in Bridges Hall.  We could save a significant amount of money by staying in this flat for a few months and the convenience being on campus would afford is significant too.  We have to talk with the housing manager to see if we'd be allowed to move in on just a 3-6 month lease.

I think it's time for breakfast - toast with butter and jam!
