Things to be Optimistic About

Baked a good ham a couple of days ago. Everyone liked it. Made up my own glaze, like mine sweet, so it had brown sugar, honey, grape jelly, dry mustard, etc.

Yesterday, made a pretty good bean and ham soup. I was happy because my children ate it better than a Happy Meal. That always makes Mama happy. Better for them too.

This week, got the girls' room straight, bathroom clean, kept the kitchen and dishes clean (every other day at least), and got caught up on the girls' laundry. Today I finished putting away the Christmas piles of stuff in the living room, and started putting together the girls' new furniture. Sweet hubby found an Imaginarium furniture set with desk/chair, toy bin, and puppet show/clothes rack for Christmas for them. Normally $150, he got them for $40 each. Good hubby. I really liked putting them together.

Unlike laundry, which never ever ends, assembling this furniture is a tangible thing to do with almost immediate results. Hurray. That, and you can see my whole living room floor AND both couches.

Everyone had been sick pretty much off and on for the 2 weeks following Christmas, so it is great to feel like we are getting back to normal, better than normal, even.
