I had
such a good day yesterday!
Hubby and I got up earlyish and headed out with Aimee to our local Mothercare where a new PixiFoto studio has opened inside the store. I was in Mothercare a coupla weeks ago and they were doing a special offer for the opening of the studio - pay £10 for a photo session, including a free 8x10 print and discount off any other photos you choose to buy - or pay £20 for the VIP pass where you get 3 photo sessions over 18 months, each with a free 8x10 print and discount off other prints bought on the day. I'd been really wanting to get some proper portrait photos of us with Aimee so I bought the VIP pass and booked us in for our first shoot!
I really wanted some nice photos of us as a family so we did it as a photo shoot with the three of us posing together. They did several different poses of the three of us and also some of just me and Aimee and just hubyy and Aimee. Aimee was ever so good and only started fussing right near the end. We went away and had a coffee (and gave Aimee a bottle) which they downloaded all the pics etc and came back 15 mins later to view the photos on the computer - and they were fab! Really pleased with them! I even liked how I looked in them and I usually hate how I look in photos! :) So we picked our free 8x10 print and then we picked some others we liked and ended up ordering a big boxed composite print of a large photo with 3 smaller ones alongside, along with 2 other shots in 8x10 size and 3 others in 7x5 (you get 2 of the 7x5 size for same price as one 8x10). They'll be ready for collection in 2 weeks and I can't wait to get them! Some of the smaller ones I am going to frame and give to e.g. my mum and my grandparents. :)
We then headed out to the nearby shopping centre to pick up some portrait photos of Aimee! A coupla weeks back they had a photographer in the Adam's Kids shop and you could have baby's photo taken for free and have one of the photos entered into a baby photo competition to possibly win £750 worth of baby stuff. You had to come back this weekend to see the photos, choose which one you wanted to enter into the competition and, of course, buy some photos if you wanted. They'd done 3 different shots of Aimee and managed to get her smiling on all 3 and they were really nice photos so we bought them!
The first one is possibly my favourite (and the one I've entered into the competition):
So we'd had some lovely family photos taken and ordered prints, we'd bought some lovely photos of Aimee, and to top the day off, while we were in the shopping centre hubby took me into a jewellers and told me he wanted to buy me an eternity ring for our wedding anniversary (at the end of this month)!
We looked at some rings in a couple of jewellers at the shopping centre but the only eternity rings they had were set with just diamonds and hubby liked the idea of mixed stones - e.g. diamond and sapphire - and I agreed. So on the way home we went to a really good local jewellers (where hubby bought my engagement ring and his wedding ring etc) and we picked a ring we liked the style of, that was set with all diamonds, and the said they could get it made for us in diamond and sapphire! So hubby ordered it and paid there and then! Woohoooo! :)
It's a really lovely ring in yellow gold (to match my wedding ring) and channel set with 9 diamonds and 8 sapphires. It's a slim straight ring and it fits just nicely against my engagement ring. :) It looks something like this, but will be in yellow gold and with diamonds and sapphires:
It will take up to 6 weeks for it to be made and delivered to the shop so probably won't be done in time for our anniversary but that's okay. Am just chuffed to bits that hubby has bought me such a lovely gift!
Mind you, now I have to try and think of something to get him for our anniversary!
