Senior Project Reflection #1

So I started my senior project this week. I'm working intensively on my conlang, Tlharithad, and so far I'm making good progress. I've made up about as much grammar and vocab this week as I did all of September and October when I first began this language. (Yay for increased cosmic background linguistics knowledge.) Eth (/edh) and thorn are pretty common characters for th and dh. If you're using MS Word, it's not hard to set up hotkeys so you can type them as easily as any capital letter. However, it is true that the average person won't read it correctly...

Yeah...the first time I encountered thorn was when I was reading Beowulf (it had parallel text). I read it as /p/. *shame shame*

Same story here, actually. I think it was the Seamus Heaney (sp) translation, which was really good.
