The majority of drivers are all right. But what I hate about driving is how it emphasizes the difference between the assholes and the sheep. Especially cause the road is a dangerous environment for that to happen.
(1) Misuse/non-use of turn signals. They're there for a reason, and they should ALWAYS be used. They should always be turned on a couple of seconds before you actually make your move (most important for lane changes, turns where you're not in a lane that's specifically marked for turning, and right-on-red; less important for exiting). I hate when people swerve into your lane, thinking that turning on their signal WHILE SWERVING legitimizes their move. I also hate that that's sometimes necessary, because if you give people warning in heavy traffic, they may speed up to block your lane change. GGGGGGGHHH.
(2) Cutting in line. In the exit-only lane from 280 north to 92 east, at rush hour there's usually a HUGE stop-and-go line for like a mile. Reason is, when you get on 92 east it dumps you into another exit-only lane, and then most of the cars have to switch out and that congests everything. Fine. But there are always a few people who drive most of the way up the line and then try to cut in. You can't block them, because if you do they'll force their way in and dent your car. You can't keep a good distance behind the car in front of you and then try to coast, because cutters will take that space in front of you. So you have to lurch along, trying to minimize the following distance. GGGGGHH, fucking assholes. Whatever happened to the universal righteous "no cutsies" principle that prevailed until about fifth grade? What happened to the line of children linking arms as one and closing ranks to prevent a cutter? What happened to fair-minded people to make them think they have cutting rights in the lunch line just because they're seniors (or 8th graders)? What happened to patience? For that matter, what happened to good traffic flow design?
AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGHH!!!!!! *tears hair out*
