Good, fast, cheap

I first encountered this principle when I got into chainmaille, but it applies to just about anything on the planet.

Whenever anyone wants anything, they want it to have these 3 properties:
>good
>fast
>cheap

Pick two and come back with a reasonable request, is the usual reply.

I've always leaned toward good+cheap (make it myself), but I really enjoy making things. I guess this is why I have a hang-up about wearing jewelry I didn't make myself - most of what I get for birthdays etc. falls under good+fast, and it feels like cheating to display something pretty without having personally produced it/sweated over it.

chainmaille, opinions, thoughts, introspection
