Bodo died two nights ago. I haven't gotten around to burying her - haven't both found a trowel and gotten home while it's still light. (BTW, before you ask, she's in the freezer, not rotting on a shelf somewhere.) I had so little emotional response it was almost scary. Bodo had long outlived her lifespan, and I've been expecting to find her dead for the past several months. And hamsters are wonderful and all, but they get boring after the initial new-pet high wears off. They're even worse than cats for not paying attention to you - you're just a big hand that gives food and handles them every so often. My life hasn't changed at all.

My cold has pretty much worn off. I feel fine for the most part, but every so often my cold will manifest itself randomly. I'll get a twenty-minute chest cough, or start sneezing for half an hour...it's kind of coquettish, in a bitchy way.

I've been really depressed/inert these past couple of days, and I have no idea why. It has nothing to do with my regular mood cycles - the timing is wrong for that. It was worse yesterday; I went around all day with this feeling in my chest like I had a giant heavy tumor instead of a heart. Not sure where that synaesthesia came from, as I've not been crossed in love lately or anything of the sort. Today was milder. I had to fight back tears during sparring, but sparring is always a huge stress. (Didn't help that I had to fight Darby and Blake in a row the first two matches.)
I've not felt up to real-life interactions, but I'm more eager to talk on IM. I don't know if that's a causative relationship (either way), or correlated, or linked only by coincidence.

Brodie and I had our reading salon today. No one else came. I was kind of disappointed - 'twould have been nice to spread the gospel of how awesome lx is - but we had a pretty cool discussion about English-teacher prescriptivism and random related things. I showed him Omniglot, and he got really excited.

random, lx
