RANT!

Okay, so I know I haven't really posted any real posts on here before, but I've got a bit of a rant and I want to expel it from me somehow.

WOMYN is useless and makes no etymological sense. Want to know why it's stupid and further degrading to WOMEN to use the word?

In Old English, man meant human in general. Wer/wyr indicated male and wif indicated a female. Wifman gradually evolved into woman, and in Middle English, the wer was dropped off man. Wife also comes from this- it used to be Were and Wife as opposed to man and wife.

What we see from this is that in the beginning, there were separate antecedents to the term man to describe the separate genders. Woman means human female, and man just means human. So yeah, perhaps it's a bit presumptive that we can leave the gender of off only one of the two terms. The logical change to me is to add wer back on to the front of man. They can be male humans instead of just humans. Why should women act like they don't understand where words come from and assume that the tag 'wo' is just a way of saying you came from a man? Oh wait, they shouldn't. Changing it to 'myn' does absolutely nothing to educate anyone and is useless when put up to the process of logical thought. More appropriate would be to educate people as to the original use of the word and make 'wer' mean male again. Also, why should we as women have to adapt to the werman? Shouldn't the wer have to adapt to us, since they're the ones who held us down in the first place? Makes sense to me.

After all, didn't you ever wonder why a werewolf was called a werewolf? Oh hello, Old English root for male! There is no wifwolf, if you're wondering. I suppose that's a little sexist. We have a right to be mutated evil creatures too!
