Pedoodles

May 01, 2009 11:53

Saw your post through someone's friend page, so wanted to comment.

We just got pedoodle shoes for my daughter. She is a bit over 3 years old. At first i got XXL i believe, which is for 4-5 year olds. They are HUGE on her. Next i gave it a shot with XL. Sandals are still big, regular shoes are perfect. So it all depends on what exactly you're looking for? if sandals, i'll go for smaller size.

Btw, check out www.mamabargains.com. I've bought mine there for 14 dollars i believe. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks. What size does your daughter wear regularly (say, StrideRite?) It sounds like I should go with size L. I need sandals for the summer, and if I like those I'll get him soft shoes for the fall as well.

Hmm. StrideRite she is 8 (for sandals). Btw, i've read mixed reviews about pedoodles. We only had ours for couple of weeks and she hasn't worn them a lot..so can't really say a lot.

We just went to Ecco outlet in Woodbury commons and got her sandals for 20 bucks. They are VERY well made..and overall, i'm a huge fan of Ecco :) Highly recommend...

Thanks, I like Ecco too. My son has Ecco sneakers and boots. What negative things did you read about pedoodles?? I saw my friend's daughter's pedoodles, and now I really want them for Sasha for the summer. He is just starting to walk, mostly crawls still, and these seem great transition shoes for this stage.

I read that they fall apart quickly... Maybe it depends on a kid :) Last year my daughter's stride rite sandals fell apart after about 2 months.

I found this by the way

According to them my son needs size L, and your daughter should be XXL (2-3 years old). Does this makes sense?

I'm not too worried. If they last him 3-4 months, I'll be fine with that. There's no way we can still use them next summer anyway :)

yep makes sense. It was just very annoying with the sandals. I mean, they are huge on her.. Btw, shoes are awesome and very cute :)

OK how do I get them for 14 bucks, and quickly? We need them now :) Please please let me know! I would have to pay $34 PLUS shipping! Anyhow, do they look cute "in person"? Not too girly?

:) it depends on how soon they'll put it up for sale... I'd wait until monday :)

The only issue i see with this sandals is their back. It's not hard.. Like here:

I don't know how well kids can run around with a thin strap for the ankle support...

These look too flimsy as first shoes I think. Ideally you would like to have sandals with a back. I actually like the ones that have a covered front as well but that is less essential.

Well they are not his first shoes - has tons of other shoes. (what's the significance of "first" shoes anyway?) Sasha even has flip-flops :))

Well, what I meant is that shoes should be a little different for kids who don't walk well in my opinion. But maybe these will provide enough support. Who knows.

Yeah, flip-flops are a great idea for somebody who does not walk well :))

Well, I'm no expert of course, but I think best first shoes are as much voodoo science as "best first foods" or "best first toys". I really don't think it matters. He can go barefoot and he'll be fine :)) And what's wrong with flip-flops?? He doesn't care and they do the job, and they look sooo cute on him! The only thing is, he takes them off often because he plays with them. He has these (daddy got them for him):

As long as he doesn't trip and his foot does not slide from the sole in one direction or another I think it is fine (no voodoo science here). I just think that if there is no good support in the back, then a foot is likely to slide. If it does not happen, then you are all clear :)

These are not true flip flops. You lied to me! :) At the same time I would probably not put them on a baby who is just learning to walk by himself. I am 100% sure that they would have been dangerous for Max. But he started walking early and was walking horribly at first. Who knows what Danya will do.
