Ask me a writing-related question in the comments. It can be about my writing or writing in general, whatever you want. Questions can be as wacky as you want. Well, I'm about halfway done with the chapter I'm supposed to be writing so I'll answer your question now. :)

If it's a one-shot, I normally start off writing long-hand. Like, the majority of my entries for Leverage bingo are written in a composition notebook because I could carry that around with me at school easier than my computer. I basically take the idea and just start writing, and I normally just go with whatever my mind throws at me since I'll edit later when I'm typing it up.

So, most of my one-shots are fully written in a few hours, shortest time going from about forty-five minutes to longest which would be maybe five hours.

Now, as a bonus, I'll tell you what I do with long fic.

With that, my plot bunnies tend to be a little unmanageable, so I've learned to let them kick around in my head for a little bit, writing down ideas and snippets of dialogue or exposition that come to me. I tend to sketch out a very basic outline that hits the major plot points.

Of course, I tend to change that outline at least three different times before the fic is finished, but that's part of the process. Once I get a good grip on where I'm headed, I sit down and write from beginning to end. I hate writing chapters out of order, so if I'm stuck on Chapter One, that's where I'll be for awhile until I work it out.

I have gotten to where I will write out of order inside the chapter if I'm having trouble with a particular scene. This is where I start constantly having conversations in my head, and if I really can't move forward, I go back to the outline, look at what movement I'm looking for from the characters, and that normally helps.

Okay, how do you deal with your plot bunnies? And, since I know you ship Parker/Eliot, how do you deal with the fact that your ship doesn't work with the canon of the show?
