well, i talked to the pendleton town court. according to the lady on the phone, i don't actually have to appear in court like the ticket told me. i am choosing to trust the human who works in the court over the inanimate piece of paper. this is very lucky because the ticket itself is $116, and the court fee would have been like $150 on top of that. luckily
obi_kim alerted me to the court fee potentiality, because otherwise i would have just merrily skipped into court. still, it's nice to just get it off my chest and onto my credit card, as it were. i am going to call and make sure it's ok once i pay it, though, because i don't want to have an arrest warrant or something.
had an awesome weekend in chicago. chris competed in the national wheel competition and took second. his straight line routine was the best one, he took first in that category. there are three ways to do wheel: vault, where you stand on top and vault off (same kind of vault spins and tucks as the olympics); spiral, which is where the wheel spins on one side like a coin or something with the person horizontal inside it; and straight line, where the person is vertical and does acrobatics inside the wheel while it rolls laterally. it was really fun and interesting to watch. we also made homemade pad thai, rode his bike (two people, one bike), went to a bar on st patty's, and went to pick me up, an awesome restaurant. oh, and watched the 80's classic film MONSTER SQUAD, the epic love of my childhood. i also got to go on friday and watch one of the children's shows that chris sets up. basically, parents pay for their kids to do circus class after school for like six or seven weeks, and then at the end there is a show where the kids juggle and spin plates and stuff. it was really fun. so yeah, good weekend.
i am glad the weather appears to have stopped being a giant bag of suck and be nice for a while. it's supposed to be mid to high 80's all week in vegas. yesssssss.
