Life has been pretty good lately. I met with my cousin's partner Alex about the job and it sounds interesting. Their company specializes in air traffic control and has a contract from NAV Canada. Apparently all airplanes in Canada must be registered with NAV Can so there will be no mid air collisions. There are three steps to the process. There are sensors on the ground that messure air pressure, wind, weather etc. There is a data collection system to process what the sensors return and then it converts it to text data. The third system displays all the information for and air traffic controller to use and communicate with the airplanes. It's all really cool. He took me on a tour of NAV Canada today and I got to see the air traffic controllers and all the 21 inch monitors that are radar screens that show the locations of all air planes in canada. His company is working on the software that handles all the data collection and conversion. Once the software is completely written there is a 6 month test phase that I will be writing test programs for. I'm excited. Wendy and I went shopping together yesterday and this man had a seisure or something and I had to call an ambulance. He was turning blue and convulsing. It was pretty freaky. I bought this really cool shirt though that I wore to my meeting today. Anyways I gotta go.
