Busy, busy. Last semester ended up good. I got straight A's for the third semester. I'll admit, though, that my final in Adolescent Literature didn't go so great and I ended up with an 88%, but my teacher raised it to an A-. My GPA actually came down a little because I had two A-'s, but all is well.
I'm taking three summer classes now, Geology, Geology lab and Art of Fiction: Literary Journalism. I hate geology, it's so damn boring and lame and I really don't give a shit about rocks or anything like that. But we're already almost half way through. I'll make it.
I'm still working two jobs. Sometimes I get really stressed out. Last week I didn't get home until 10 four days a week. I'm working 30 hours and taking 3 classes and don't have a moments time to rest (I should be working on homework right now, in fact). So I'm trying to relax as much as I can whenever I get the opportunity.
We got a new manager at Starbucks. Part of me likes her and part of me hates her. She was instructed by corporate to clean up our store because Mary was such a crappy manager. But she's inforcing some of the stupidest rules that none of the Starbucks listen to. For instance, she makes Chris, who has a red mohawk, wear a hat because we aren't supposed to dye our hair an unnatural color. But comeon! This is 2007! And isn't Starbucks supposed to be supportive of artsy employees and self-expression? Not to mention the customers loved Chris's hair. She's just taking away everything that makes us Mass Ave. I mean, Mass Ave is like no where in Indianapolis. It's not only the gay district but an artsy center where every kind of people come together. We have business people and musicians and writers and college students and every kind of person from every walk of life, and our staff reflects that. But she's ruining that. Ugh.
Not to mention, today I worked with her and Stacy and she left Stacy and I alone all day! We were slammed and she sat in the office on the damn computer. So we didn't get any of the pre-closing stuff done so the poor night crew is in for it.
ANYWAY...
Good news! No, GREAT NEWS!!!!! We got the OMNI!!!!!! WE'RE SO EXCITED!!!! We signed the contract and paid the down paymenet. We're officially getting married on August 13, 2008 at the Omni Severin. We get a suit the night before for me and my wedding party and Tony and I get a room the night of the wedding. It's such a beautiful place!
Two Sundays ago our parents finally met. We met at the Omni to show them the ballrooms we get. Then we had lunch at Champs. It went well. Then Tony and I walked around the mall and he bought me two shirts from Hot Topic that have characters from my favorite show- Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends- on them. Then we went to Starbucks and then walked around the canal. After that we saw Spiderman 3 at the IMAX in Greenwood. It was awesome.
Last Sunday we took the dog to Brown County State Park. It was a lot of fun.
The dog has figured out how to climb under the fence. He sucks.
Well I guess that's all for now.
