I'm recording my favorite Christmas songs onto a cassette right now to listen to in my truck. I'm so getting ready for Christmas now. I can't wait. I love this season!
Since we're going up to Norfolk, my mom bought each of us girls a CD to keep us occupied. She did that last Christmas vacation too when she bought me the Josh Groban CD. She bought me the NEW Josh Groban CD this time, but I can't open it until the trip. Grr ... I hate anticipation.
Last night was fun. It wasn't AS fun as it was supposed to be, but that's cool. Caro and I went to Barnes&Noble where I got the second LotR book. Then we went to Joffrey's. Chris, Jimmy, Kyle, and Sean were already there. Bethie and Mar met up with us soon after. Mar was in a bad mood and we ended up not being able to see 'Kill Bil' so disaster followed up because we couldn't agree on something to do. Thankfully, Courtney (aka The Lifesaver) came and Marlee cheered up. We ended up leaving earlier than usual and went to Kyle's house to watch 'Finding Nemo'. They played pool first, then some other game who's name evades me now ... had something to do with three balls. BELGIAN BALLS! Bethany broke a dart while attempting a bullseye and also fell over in her chair. I also maimed Chris for several minutes. I meant to kick his butt cuz he was in my way and ended up kicking a little too far forward between his legs. I'M SO SORRY CHRIS! I felt bad. Then we watched the beginning of 'Finding Nemo' but had to leave to make it to Marlee's by 1a. We watched 'Grease'. Chris fell asleep and I fell asleep on Chris. Chris left at 2:30a and Bethie, Mar, Caro, and I all went to bed. Marlee woke me up at 10a and I went home and went to church.
My family pulled the epitome of all dysfunctionalities today. My mom wanted to take pictures of us girls in our letter shirts (I have an 'a', Emily an 'e', and Jessica a 'j') but Jessica couldn't find her shirt. Mom went BESERK! She ripped her room to pieces trying to find it. Jessica was just crying in the corner. Then Mom started wailing that she tries so hard, yadda yadda, and everything gets thrown back in her face. Then she starts chiding me for not doing scholarships and Emily for just stuff. So Dad tries spray painting a 'j' on a shirt to make up for the missing shirt, but it doesn't work. Then Emily decides to pull her shit.
"Why don't you like Andrew?"
"Because he's trash!" my mom replies since she's upset.
"I HATE YOU! I HATE BOTH OF YOU!" is Emily's reply and she slams herself in her room and starts moaning and crying and screaming. Mom and Dad have some mumble jumble in the kitchen I couldn't hear, then Mom goes into Emily's room and apologize to her for calling Andrew trash and that she's just afraid, etc. Emily and Mom end up in a loving embrace and five minutes later Emily is tickling Jessica trying to get her to cheer up for being upset about losing the shirt. Dad made up a shirt for Jessica and all five of us end up out front all happy, cheery, and giggly. Well, I wasn't because I didn't quite get what just happened. I mean, five minutes prior they were shouting at everyone and screaming and crying then the next they're out laughing and having a great time taking pictures out front. I was EXTREMELY confused. We're so freakin' dysfunctional. It's times like these when I can't wait to get out of here.
I ended up going to Caro's to watch Christmas movies and chow on pizza rolls. We only watched one whole movie (The Muppet Christmas Carol) before we got restless. Marlee and I started helping Bekah and Mrs. Stallworth on decorations for a dance at MMS, but then Mar and Caro directed their attention to writing a story for Kelly Swindell. I left around 6:30. Had to rush Emily to her Confirmation class because my dad was to lazy to get up and take her himself. He didn't even REMEMBER to. He didn't get Jessica any dinner either. For God's sake ... what ever would happen to him if Mom or me weren't here to do everything for him?
Well, it's about bed time for me and I gotta get this cassette done. Man, I wish I had a CD player in my truck.
