My weeks are awesome...

The NYC meetup last weekend was awesome! But HOLY SHIT blisters. I hadn't been expecting the 10 mile hike(I'm not exaggerating) around NYC to get from point A to point B. I wish that we had taken more subway/taxi. If I had known the end destination of the walks, I probably would have just taken one with my fiancee and two other girls to split the fare. But seriously 2-inch wide, 1/2 inch tall blisters across my heel from wearing 5" heel cheap pleather suede boots on a hot day with the rest of my outfit, could totally have been avoided ;_;. I'm sure I'm not the only lolita who had bad ones after that long hike.

I'm sooooo glad to have gone...It was one of the best meetups I've been to in a long time. I chatted with loads of different women, including some who were visiting from CA! I loved how the big group split off, and at different times I was able to just...talk. With a person or two at a time, which is the best way to get to know people. Eating crepes at Chelsea market, drinking bubble tea across from Search & Destroy, or just sitting and relaxing at the MET...and having great chats at the same time, it's just the best way to spend a day ^^.

The exhibits at FIT were amazing, and I'm hoping to go down there in another few months to maybe sketch some ideas off them. Tokyo Rebel was tiny but awesome; I have to be honest that I've seen more extensive shops at anime cons(yes, real brandz not just bodyline) so I'm a little spoiled. But from what I understand they're understocked

After the end of the day, I went with the last few lolitas to eat at Alice's Tea Cup. I had really been anticipating going to Rose House. From what I understand, it's so far away from where we were in Manhattan that it would be really hard to get to. All the way in flushing...like a 45 minute subway ride both ways. So last of us who were left, went and hung out there. The food & tea were very nice and the decor was beautiful.

I finally washed my hair after a week from the meetup! My rag-curls stayed in the entire time, though at the end they were more strongly wavy than curly. Pretty amazing given my hair HATES holding a curl with the curling iron! I'd post photos but I'm lazy ~~~~~<3. I hope to see everyone from the last meetup again sometime soon!
