Erika at 4 years 2 months
Lounging in the backyard at twilight
Out of the blue, Erika didn't want me to buckle her carseat straps anymore, and brushed my hands away with frustration.
When Brian and I got into the front seats, she turned to her dad, and asked: "Daddy? Do you think I can buckle myself in?"
Brian said "yes, I think you can do it."
Erika then passive-aggressively said, "not if Mommy keeps doing it for me!"
Oh snap!
She's known her friend, Teagan, since they were both 6 - 8 months old, when they both attended the same daycare, so for the past 4 years, they've spent their days together, growing up together.
Erika said, "You know who I'm going to marry when I grow up? I'm going to marry Teagan. I think I won't mind spending every day with him for the rest of my life, because I've been with for almost all of my life, so we really know each other."
Then after some thinking, she added: "But I'm not sharing my food with him, because he licks it and gets all his saliva all over it! And I don't want his saliva all over my stuff!"
