"Clobbering Erika with a tennis ball" story

May 26, 2013 16:03

The other day, I clobbered Erika in the lower back with a tennis ball. I hit her so hard, she stumbled and burst into tears. #momoftheyear

When her father helped her shower later that evening, he had not heard nor read of the story on Facebook yet, but noticed the giant bruise welt on her back and grew concerned. "What happened?" he asked. She gave a shrug and a tilt of her head, and said "I dunno. It's okay" and proceeded to get dressed in her nightgown.

Only later did he realize what had happened, so he asked her, point blank: "why didn't you tell me Mommy did it?"

She didn't hesitate to respond with a matter-of-factly tone: "Because I don't get my Mommy in trouble. Ever." #bestdaughterever
