Finally able to freely blog

The big D is finally over and I can be free to blog away once again. a LOT has happened in the last year. You all know I moved to FL a little over a year ago. I am now in Michigan for a spell and am really enjoying it. I am in Ann Arbor and am absolutely loving it so far. I came here because a dear friend is a grad student at the Univ of Michigan for Engineering. I found out about a medical opportunity here within the University and before I knew it, it was time to head north for him to further his education and for me to reach out and get some medical advice from some specialists here. I am crossing my fingers I can become the healthiest I can be. So far, just having the stress out of my life has brought a lot of happiness. I am still having random bouts of fatigue but I take the bad with the good. The city is amazing and there is so much to do that I am finding no problem following the doctor recommendation to increase my physical activity. We walk daily, from 1 to 3 miles or more. The weather and sights are amazing. Just in the 4 weeks I have been here, I have been to a Ren Faire, been canoing down the river, visited every thrift store/ independent music store/ health food store/ independent grocer and bookstore, even visited the Bavarian town of Frankenmuth when I first got here.

I traveled down to SC last week for the final hearing and am so glad it is all over. I will spare you all the details. It is over and I am moving on and thinking happy thoughts. My future seems to be looking up for once, so I am going to embrace it and run with it, trying to savor every moment and discount the bad.

Once I returned to Ann Arbor, I took it easy for a day then on Friday, Jesse and myself walked downtown and over to the main campus to check out all the independent music stores we had found, went over to Ritz to check out the new Nikon (they did not have it in and never have) then popped in for some awesome sushi and katsu. After dinner, we went to a game shop and rented MarioParty8 for Wii. It was a lot of fun, if ya don't mind Communist games. haha. We had a blast playing and that is all that matters. Saturday, we got up and headed up to Frankemuth again for Oktoberfest. We had a 5 course meal at a German restaurant and ate entirely too much, of course. We came home with fresh German sausages, gourmet fudge flavors of Lemon Meringue Pie and Pumpkin Pie and hit the Oulet Stores before getting back on the freeway. Oh, can't forget the Culvers. It is a chain that sells burgers and custard based ice cream. We both got Pumpkin Pie shakes and thought it was one of the tastiest beverages we had ever tasted. It was SO good that we have looked ahead to see what the flavor of the day is for each day of the month and will be going this Friday for Apple Crisp. We saw one on the way to Chicago and figured we could stop in on our way to Detroit this weekend. (gonna finally get to hold the camera I want as well as going to see the WWII Weekend being held there)

So, other than staying busy and having too much fun...I shall have to update on other news at another time as I am tired for the day.
