New VW update....
So today was an easy going kind of day as we slept in again. Ha ha, imagine that. Well, it kinda happens that way when you stay up until shortly before daybreak. Funny how that works....
Today, Kitty got a new air filter, new MAF sensor, a trans flush, and the engine is SPARKLING now. I swear it looks brand new. If it weren't for the beautiful VW emblem on the engine cover, I would so leave it off so I can look at my engine periodically. So what if we had to spray it down with Predator looking chemicals? It looks niiiiiiiiiiiiiice now. The shifting was nice before, but it is oh so much more nice now. It is also a lot more peppy now with the new MAF sensor. Go Kitty!!!!
I bought her a new Pioneer CD/MP3/WMA/WAV head unit with blue readout to match her instrument panel. Now she needs gauge pods!!! I have to have an oil temp gauge, but Alex will get one first. I promised him. He will also be getting a new fuse box and wiring harness this summer. Kitty will pretty much be my daily driver, and I will take Alex on outings that require space. I also want to at least take him to High Country this year as we have missed the past several and now that Chris has a bus, there is no excuse to NOT go.
Tomorrow, in goes the head unit! We will also be making a trip to the VW dealership and parts shops for misc. small finishing parts. I also hope we can get the summer tires from the original owner as right now it has snow tires on it and I will totally get my rumpuss kicked if I come home with SNOW tires on...LOL. I am leaving the CT inspection sticker on for nostalgia, though. If we can squeeze it in, we will be making a biodiesel run. My plan is to drive her all the way home on bio....better get my mapping skillz on!
