I'm at an Internet cafe in London to escape the rain. I guess I will update in stay a bit longer. This is a great city. ON a whim, I bought tickets about 4 days ago for really cheap money, like 120 euros. If I did this like 2 wks ago, I could have flown from Rome to London for like 25 bucks. Ryanair. CHeck it out. This is a great city. Was here two years ago with Dad, it's nice to be back on my own. I crashed at Will's place last night, went out to Piccadilly. More shenanigans will likely ensue tonight. By and large, time out here (Rome, I mean) has been going incredibly well. The internship is getting interesting, and just walking around Piazza Venezia or Corso Vittorio Emanuele (I give these specifics for GD's edification, I think) and shooting the shit, well, getting quotations, from Italians about random things like gas prices, the European Union and MIchael Jackson is lots of fine. Sometimes, though, they treat the interns like idiots when Steve (my buddy I'm living with in ROme who is from Yale and is also interning) and I could do the job better than this intern coordinator who usually doesn't write that much, and when she does, it's terrible stuff. She treats us like we're retarded. She's italian, 24 years old, her dad is some rich media mogul who I think got her this job, and every time I translate something from Italian into English to put on the wire she changes my English into phrases that don't make sense at all. Argh. But I'm in Rome. Caught an awesome Duran Duran and Beck concert last week outside St. John the Lateran. Next week it's James Brown along with the Wailers. Different friends from school have been crashing, often bringing attractive women along with them...Trastevere is where it's at, I think. OK, I'm going to head out. Be good everyone.
