The beginning of many more to come...
Today was the day that I finally met Lay Lan after a year plus of separation due to religion. Initially it felt a bit awkward to see her after so long but i got used to it after some time. We chatted and laughed like we always did before we went our separate ways in February 2010. It was nice seeing and catching up with her again. As some of you may recall, we fell out because of our differences in thinking when it came to religion. I did not believe in religion anymore and she was upset at me for leaving the religion.
I guess mending that relationship as one of my goals for this year has begun. I hope to see more of her as the year goes by. And slowly I will make some way for her to be part of my life again. I do hope she feels the same way too. Tonight we didn't touch anything about religion. Thankfully. I guess on our parts, that topic was best left untouched. Yet we had so many other things to talk about. It was nice to see that both of us respected each other.
She did seem to wonder why I kept quiet a lot during the gathering earlier. I used to be very chatty. I guess its something I have learnt in my journey so far. There is a time to listen and there is a time for me to speak.
I was glad I attended the gathering tonight.
