Author Notes: And, on that note, I am done with my fanfic twenty-five words early, so I'm going to ramble ramble about things like the song Sweet December, which is what this was based off of. I love that song so much, and to me, it felt like the perfect Shaun/Andy song. That is all.

"I know you're mad, but just think about it this way. It's a lot less explaining to do when it comes to interviews." Shaun quickly ducked as a pillow was thrown at his head. "Really, Andy, it's only for the good of the band!"

"The good of the band?" Andy replied, his voice tinged with venom as he spat at Shaun. "You took our favourite memory and turned it into...into a disturbing, straight song! I thought that you were going to go with the original lyrics, the ones you wrote for me! I thought you were going to finally let the world know about us, but no. The great Shaun Diviney has to protect his player status." Another pillow was chucked through the air, aimed directly at Shaun's head. "I had faith in you."

Shaun dodged the pillow and he looked at Andy, his eyes silently pleading his partner to stop acting like this. "You mean the world to me, but exposing us would mean exposing the band and do you have any idea how many fans we'd lose if we exposed the band?"

"I don't care!" Andy shouted, cutting Shaun off mid-breath of air. "I don't care if we'd lose fans because we've got loads of them, and becoming popular wasn't what I set out to do with you and Bradie, Shaun! I only did this because I wanted to be with you and you wanted this, don't you see? I wanted you to be happy, and I didn't know that it was too much to ask for that in return, but apparently it is for you.' The pillow that was gripped tightly in Andy's hand dropped to the floor as he turned away, his anger fading quickly. "I just...I thought that we meant something to you, Shaun, but apparently the concept of us being 'us' isn't what you want."

"You're wrong, Andy!" Shaun darted over to the skinny male, grabbing onto his wrist lightly before he was roughly shaken away. "You and I, it means the world to me, but the world won't understand it. They'll hate us, ban us from performing in venues and it could ruin the band. I love you, Andy, but-"

"But you love the band more." The hollow whisper that escaped Andy's voice was more than enough to prove to the both of them that he was right. "You'd rather have the fans and the popularity than have the world know that you're in love with your bassist. I get it."Andy paused; a moment of silence in which to give Shaun a chance to counter his statement, but none came and it broke him. "I don't think I can be with someone who puts their career in front of their love, Shaun."

Shaun choked. "Andy, please, please don't do this." His voice was cracking, verging on the pleading, desperate tones that he kept to himself, that nobody heard unless they were really worth it, and apparently Andy was worth it, but not worth losing the band over. "I love you, Andy, I really do, but this is my dream and has been since I was three. I just don't want to give up something so promising for a public confession. That doesn't make me love you any less."

"No, it just makes you love the band more," Andy replied, pushing Shaun away as he tried to take his hand. "I can't do this, Shaun. I can't be with you if you're going to be lost to this." He cut off Shaun's protests, pushing the man back once more before stepping out of the room and signaling that that was that.

The sound of Shaun's heart breaking could be heard from miles away, and when Short Stack appeared from a temporary hiatus with a new bassist, questions were raised but never answered, not completely at least. Bradie half-answered the quarreling fans desperate protests, but he never really explained why Andy was no longer a part of their trio. And when Shaun gave lackluster performances on stage, and even in their music videos, nobody tried to change it. It was almost as if somehow they all knew what was wrong but wouldn't dare say anything on the matter. After all, there wasn't much that could be done to heal a broken heart.

In fact, there was really nothing at all.
