“Oh. My. God. ALEX ALEX ALEX!” A lazy head poked itself up from the tall grass, shortly followed by a completely naked boy. “ALEX! COME HERE!”
“Whaaaat, Jack?” Alex whined as he lazily moved from his comfortable spot, hidden in the grass. He went over to his black haired companion, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “Whaddayouwantfrea-” The words jumbled together, cutting off quickly as the brunette tripped over a tiny rock that was hidden in the grass. “Ouchies! Jaaacccckkk!”
The dark haired boy instantly bounded over to Alex and flopped down into the grass next to him, poking Alex as the boy whined and held his foot. “What happened, Lexi lexi?”
“I tripped!” Alex exclaimed, glaring at Jack between shifting positions so that he could pull his foot closer to him. “And I hurt my toe!”
Jack looked down at Alex’s throbbing toe and he pouted a little bit. “Clumsy Alex,” he said with a laugh in his voice. “Lemme kiss it better!” He shifted so that he was lying on his stomach, his face right in front of Alex’s toe.
“You idiot!” Alex exclaimed as he looked down at Jack, instantly pulling back from the brunette who had been kissing his toe. “That’s not how you kiss a toe! You don’t suck on it!”
“Oh…” Jack stared at Alex, wonder sparkling in his eyes. “Then how do you kiss something? I thought that was how.” A sigh escaped Alex’s lips and he grabbed onto Jack’s hair before tugging the boy up to him, pressing his lips quickly to Jack’s before pulling away.
“That’s how you kiss,” Alex mumbled, his face bright red as he got up off of the ground and began walking away, leaving the stunned yet happy Jack behind.
“Oh.” Jack bounced up to his feet before chasing after Alex. “I liked that! A lot!” Alex rolled his eyes as he continued walking away, but after a moment, he stopped and turned around to stare at Jack.
“So why were you calling me again? I was enjoying my sun time.” A hint of a pout spread across Alex’s lips, but it was gone as soon as he finished his sentence, instantly replaced by a flabbergasted expression as Jack let out a loud squeak.
The dark haired boy jumped forward and grabbed onto Alex’s hand, a grin on his face. “That’s right! Come on!” Without another word, Jack began tugging Alex over the field where they had come from, towards the shorter grass, the place where they would come to.
“Lookie, lookie!” Jack exclaimed as he pointed in the distance where there was a purple and white unicorn, grazing in the grass. “Isn’t it pretty?” Alex didn’t even have to look over at Jack to know that his companion’s eyes were all sparkly and his face was lit up like a two-year-old’s. “Alex, Alex Alex can we catch it and keep it!?”
“Do you remember the last time we caught one?” Jack sunk down to the ground, already trying to drag Alex forward so that they could capture the unicorn. “Carl didn’t like us. He said our legs were too scratchy.”
“Carl Jr. didn’t like us, and oh well. We can rip off the hair before we ride this one,” Jack reasoned as he pulled Alex across the field. “Come on! I wanna name this one.” Alex listened to Jack, not really paying attention to the boy. “I think it should be Fluffy. No…Sparkles! Fluffy. Sparkles. Sparkles Fluffy?”
Alex laughed a little bit. “How about Fluffy McSparkles?” Jack stopped dead in his tracks, causing Alex to run into him and knock them both into the grass. Jack shoved Alex off of him and then pounced on top of the other boy, practically gleeing.
“I love it!” he exclaimed, his attention on Alex now and not the unicorn. “I know there was a reason I kept you around!”
“You mean one aside from the fact that we grew up together and we’re naked buddies and that’s why we got kicked out of home?” Alex asked as he tilted his head to the side, looking at Jack for just a moment before he shoved the boy off of him.
“Yeah!” Jack jumped up and he bounced a little before looking at the future Fluffy McSparkles. “Come on, Alex! We have to catch it now, before it flies away!”
Leaving Alex behind, Jack ran towards the unicorn, squealing as he rushed to jump onto the creature, but as soon as he got close enough to it, the unicorn ran away from Jack, towards Alex. “ALEX! CATCH HIM!”
Alex jumped up from the grass and his eyes grew wide as he saw the unicorn charging at him. “Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!” The unicorn was getting closer
closer…
closer…
and just as Alex thought it was about to hit him, it stopped. …and licked Alex!?
“Ewwwww!” Alex made a face and he jumped away from the creature, whining a little bit as he did so. Why did every animal they ran into find the need to lick him!? “Jack! Get Fluffy McSparkles away from me!”
As if on cue, Jack appeared behind the animal and jumped onto it, instantly wrapping his arms around the unicorn’s neck. “Fluffy McSparkles, you’re so cute! I’m going to love you forever and never let you go and oh my gosh you’re the cutest thing in the world!”
The unicorn reared its head and flapped its nonexistent wings, beginning to lift itself off of the ground so that it could fly away and Jack was gripping tightly to it. “Jack!” Alex exclaimed as he watched the unicorn take off of the ground. “Jack get off!”
“Alex, I’m not gonna come on the unicorn!” Jack shouted back as he clung tighter to Fluffy McSparkles. “I’m sorry, Alex is a meanie face.”
“No, Jack! Get off of the unicorn now! It’s flying away!” Jack blinked a couple of times and he looked down, realizing that Alex was now a few feet below him.
“Oh!” Jack exclaimed before he nuzzled the unicorn. “Well, bye Fluffy McSparkles!” he exclaimed, smacking a big kiss to the unicorn’ mane before jumping off of it and rolling down onto the grass, stopping right next to Alex. “Hiiiii.” Alex kicked at Jack lightly with his foot as the unicorn flew off into the sky.
“You’re an idiot,” he declared before stomping across the field to go back to his sun spot.
Jack jumped up from the ground and he followed Alex, a puppy pout on his face. “Alex! Lexi! Don’t be mad at me!” He reached out to grab onto Alex’s hand, but before he could grab it, a soft snapping sound rang through the air, causing them both to freeze in place.
“…Jack?” Alex said quietly, not daring to look around in case there was a bear there to attack them. “Was that you?”
“No…” Jack swallowed a little, his pout turning into an expression of fear as he grabbed onto Alex’s hand tightly. “What was that?”
“I don’t know…” Alex moved his head a little to the side, seeing nothing on the one side of the field. When he turned his head the other way, though, he jumped. There were…were those humans? “Jack. Jack, look!”
Jack turned his head in the direction Alex was looking in and his eyes widened. “Oh wow! Those are humans!” He squeezed onto Alex’s hand tightly and grinned a little bit. “Oh my gosh! Alex, Alex look!”
“I see them, Jack,” Alex whispered, cautiously backing away from the two who were now stepping closer to Jack. “We should go… We don’t want to get attacked by them or something. They might cut us open to see what’s inside. Jack?”
Alex hadn’t even realized that Jack had pulled himself from Alex’s grip and started running towards the humans until he spotted Jack halfway across the field. “Jack!”
Jack stopped right in front of the two, not even thinking about the fact that this was probably awkward because he wasn’t wearing clothes. “Hi!” he exclaimed as he bounced a little bit in front of them, not noticing the shocked looks on the two in front of him. “My name is Jack and I’m-“
“An idiot,” Alex finished in a harsh voice as he appeared behind Jack, grabbing onto his hair and beginning to tug him away.
“No, wait! Alex!” Jack whined as he looked at Alex, trying to get out of the boy’s grip. “I introduced myself! We’re supposed to hug now!”
“No, Jack,” Alex protested as he frowned a little. “They’re humans! They’ll hurt us.”
“We will not,” the blonde said, staring at Alex and Jack for just a moment before turning to his short-haired companion. “Will we, Rian?”
The boy named Rian shook his head. “No, Zack, we’re not going to. We’re just…you two are curious. We’re interested in you guys.”
“And we want to clothe you!” Rian coughed and a slight flush spread across Zack’s face. “Well…I want to clothe you.”
Alex stopped trying to drag Jack away, giving his friend the chance to grab onto Alex’s hand and tug him back over to the humans. “See, Alex!” he said as they got close to them again. “I told you they weren’t bad. Can we hug you now!?”
“No,” Zack said as he shook his head. “I’m not hugging naked dudes.”
Rian looked over at Zack. “That’s not what you said in bed last night.” Zack flushed and he looked down at the grass at their feet for a moment before reaching into his bag and pulling out a giant handful of clothes.
“Here,” he said as he held them out to Jack and Alex. “Just put these on.”
Jack stared at the clothes for a moment before looking at Alex and then shaking his head. “No. We don’t wear clothes. They’re too confining!”
“But…you have to wear clothes,” Zack protested.
“No we don’t!” Jack bounced a little. “Alex and I like not wearing clothes. It’s how we roll, even if Fluffy McSparkles didn’t like it.”
Alex could see that Rian wanted to ask who Fluffy McSparkles was, but he wasn’t going to give him the chance, nor was he going to listen to Zack and Jack argue, so he interrupted the conversation. “So why are you two here?” he asked loudly as he looked them, blinking a little bit.
That shut Zack up instantly and Jack even started bouncing a little bit, waiting for an answer. There was a minute of silence before Rian spoke up. “Our friend, Matt, he’s got AIDS, so we came here to see if we could find the cure.”
Alex paused for a moment before he looked over at Jack. “We know where that is, remember?” Jack blinked a couple of times before nodding eagerly.
“Oh yeah! We found it up the hill! By the rainbow!”
“What are your names again?” Alex asked as he looked at Zack and Rian. “There were instructions with it.”
Zack paused for a moment. “Uh…Zack and Rian…”
“They’re the ones!” Jack bounced a little. “Lexi, Lexi! We can give away the AIDS cure now!”
“Finally!” Alex grinned, completely ignoring the two humans at his excitement. “This is so, so cool!”
“Uh…” Rian stared at them a little bit before he chewed on his lip. “You…know where the AIDS cure is?”
Alex nodded eagerly. “Yeah! We’ll go get it!”
“We’ll come with you,” Zack said instantly as he grabbed onto Rian’s hand, dragging him after the two naked boys who were already running across the field.
Jack stopped in his tracks and he turned around before shaking his head. “You guys aren’t allowed to come with us,” he said instantly. “Humans aren’t allowed to see the rainbow. It’ll blind you with its sparkleshine.”
Zack frowned and he tried to follow the two who had started across the field again, but Rian stopped him. “No, Zack,” he told him. “They said we can’t go, we can’t go.”
“But it’s Matt! What if they don’t come back? What if they were just lying?”
“We’ll just have to trust them,” Rian said as he shrugged. “Jack and Alex are going over the hill to get the cure for AIDS for us, so we just have to hope they’re telling the truth.”
Zack pouted a little bit before he sighed. “Okay…”
The two sat down in the field and waited for them to return, almost falling asleep as they did so. It was getting dark, and Zack and Rian were losing hope in the two naked boys.
“Let’s just go,” Zack said as he sighed a little bit, looking at Rian. “They’re not coming back.”
Rian chewed on his lip lightly before he moved to get up. “Yeah…” he sighed. “Let’s just go…” He got up and took Zack’s hand, trying to drag him away, but right as he was about to leave, he stopped. “Zack!” he said as he grinned. “Zack, look!”
In the distance, Alex and Jack were running towards them. “Oh…wow…they’re back!”
Alex dragged Jack up to Zack and Rian and he grinned. “We got it!” Zack blinked a little bit. “We got the cure to AIDS! It’s for you!”
“Well, where is it?” he asked, looking for a bottle or something, but Alex just held out his hand. “It’s in your hand?” Zack asked as he held his hand out to take whatever Alex was going to give to him.
Alex dropped a flower into Zack’s hand and he smiled. “There!”
“…it’s a flower. Is this a joke? Where’s the cure?”
“That is the cure,” Jack told him as he grinned. “Can’t you tell? You just get your friend to eat the flower and he’s cured!”
Rian paused for a moment. “Yeah…seriously, where’s the cure?”
Alex frowned. “That is the cure! Why don’t you two get this?”
“Because it’s a flower,” Zack said with a laugh. “There’s no way that a flower is the cure to AIDS.”
Jack pouted. “But it is! Can’t you tell!? The flower is rainbow coloured and it works! We’ve tried it!”
“How?”
“There was someone in our village, back when we were in there. One of them was sick. We found the cure and he got better!”
Alex chewed on his lip lightly. “Believe us, please.”
Zack sighed. “Okay…” he tugged on Rian’s hand and sighed. “Let’s get out of here.”
Rian chewed on his lip lightly before he let go of Zack’s hand and went forward to hug Alex and Jack. “Thanks, guys,” he said quietly before he pulled back, grinning. “You two are awesome.”
Alex smiled.
“We know we are,” Jack responded, laughing a little until Alex slapped him. “Ouch! Alex!”
“You deserved it,” Alex responded before he smiled. “Bye Zack. Rian.”
They waited until the humans were gone before Alex tugged on Jack’s hand. “Let’s go home.”
“Okay,” Jack replied with a small smile, following Alex back to their hill. “Hey, Alex?”
“Yeah, Jack?”
“Tomorrow, can we go hunt for Fluffy McSparkles again?”
Alex paused for a moment before he nodded. “Sure, Jack. We’ll find him tomorrow.”
“Good.”
