memo to self: LEARN HOW TO FUCKING DRIVE! If you drove, you would get yourself a car. If you had a car, you would not have to depend on others to take you anywhere or run on other people's schedules. Ergo, the fiasco that was this weekend would not have happened.
Okay, it really wasn't a faisco. But it still screwed up my plans for yesterday big time.
Went away for the weekend and had a really good time. We were supposed to come back Sunday. However, plans changed due to several reasons, most important one being that several people had planned to stay until Monday so a few others decided that it would be a good idea. Unfortunately for me, these people were my ride. Sooo not good. Mind you, we had planned to come back Sunday afternoon. Since I had the day off, I decided that I would take care of a few things and be there to help my mother finish packing up and move all her stuff out. Well, that didn't happen and I nearly flipped out.
So we stayed in the middle of nowhere, where the gas stations don't even carry beer, for an extra day. The extra night wasn't a total waste. We played Spin the Bottle and considering that it was only three girls with about seven guys, I got to see some pseudo guy on guy action. I say pseudo because they refused to kiss on the lips but there was definite touching, and a little grinding, going on. And it's very possible I was the only one truly enjoying it.
It was probably a good thing that I wasn't home yesterdaya because the apartment was a mess when I got back. My mother left a few things that she needs to come back next week to get. The contractors are starting on the kitchen already, even though the landlords still haven't picked one out yet. And the bathroom - OMG! I have a toilet but no sink and definitely not a shower. I'm washing my face and brushing my teeth in the kitchen sink. It's very strange. They said that hopefully by Friday we should have the shower back.
The kitchen: They took out one of the counters, along with the cabinets it was attached to and placed it in the dining room. Sometime this week, they are putting the stove and I think the dryer in the DR as well. The place is going to be topsy turvy for the next month at least.
My sister comes home next week to a home that's practically flying and currently has a broken washing machine. Plus, one of my cousins from NJ is taking a beauty course next week and is planning to stay with us. We have the room, I don't doubt that. It's just a matter of the condition of the apartment. It's going to be a fun week.
The washing machine fills the machine with water, but it won't spin or rinse. The clothes just soak in the water without getting clean. It's really, really gross. There's nothing wrong with the lines, we think it might be the pump. C. suggested maybe getting a new washer and we'll get a stackable to conserve space. This leaves us with a perfectly good dryer in our dining room. Maybe we'll sell it. Or just get the washer repaired. Whatever. I'm not doing anything until she comes home because I honestly don't have the money.
That's it for now. Gonna slowly go through my flist (I've been missing you guys all weekend), because I don't want to be home until the construction guys leave.
If some of this post sounds completely scattered and incoherent, it's a glimpse of what really goes on in my mind. I usually try to formulate it normally, but I have no patience today.
