So far, James is just mentioned, but I was thinking after the conversation I worked on last night that I'll work him in there, somehow. Not sure how, yet... A 3-way chat just seems like the easy way out, and doesn't totally fit. We shall see. I'll get him in there, somehow!

I'm also still working on the details of his modern-day persona... (married/not/widower, kid(s)/no kid(s), etc.) When I hammer more of those out, I'm sure he'll want to be included. :P

I was thinking more of because James wasn't lending himself to being the sort to be IMing... but that could in itself prove amusing- "how the hell do you work this infernal program??! *swearing*" ...or if I decide to give him kids, they would be the experts and trying to help him, with Theo and Andrew laughing their asses off on the other end. *ponders this*

Okay, this is kind of hilarious- I had just watched a particular clip of Coupling, and then I read you comment, so I saw "his boys" and my mind immeidately went to Jeff saying "My landing party!" and I was *so* confused. Then I realized what that line actually meant. :P

In short I'm predicting that James will make his debut in Conversation VI (yes, there's at least six of them. :P)

Now of course James has fleshed out his character enough to want to be there, but a storyline? Pfeh, nope. *shakes fist* I'm thinking it will be a three-way-IM, but I have to come up with a reaosn of why they'd all be IMing... while obviously in three different places... I'll figure it out, I'm sure. James, come on. :P

Hmm... *ponders* I tried to write that conver., but it just didn't work. 2.5 tries latter, sitll wasn't working. I think I need to re-evaluate James's character. It just felt... awkward, and like I was straying too much from the Navyboys and the original intention. Which I'm sure I was.

I'll get his arse straightened out, then I'm sure everything else will follow suite...

That's the tricky part with modern versions of the character's. Sometimes things can get... awkward. And messy. And messed.

Indeed it could. I wasn't thinking that, when I wrote it, but now it makes me giggle.

I, once again, think I've worked out some more kinks... I'm going to try writting it again, and see if this one works. If not... then damn. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, I guess.
