title: "spinning black nebulas"
pairing: reita/ruki
rating: PG
When he thinks of Ruki he thinks of shooting stars. A single object that manages to stray off from collective pieces of asteroid fields and other orbiting tokens that are nothing but small marbles amongst a broader picture. It's nothing but burning matter, gas, a drop off against the distant night sky but when he catches the faintest glimpse of it it feels like he's looking at the relics of ancient ruins. In a way Ruki is almost just as dangerous as that single piece of matter because he moves at such a pace that Reita feels he can never catch up.
He's always one flight path ahead, plummeting at dangerous depths that would leave any normal person scattered along the concrete in puzzle pieces. In all that violent urgency there is beauty. In that moment just as that shooting star breeches the orbit and it's left with a hallow peeling of its shell he can see Ruki for what he is.
