6:43 PM 5/11/08 · I regularly watch The Colbert Report, which is a great show if you've never seen it. Maybe not as good as The Daily Show, which comes on just before it, but still pretty damned good!
This past Thursday they did an exclusive interview with space. One of the astronauts on a space station is a regularl watcher of the show and they actually patched a live feed, 2½ second interrupt, with the station. It was pretty cool and they did enough things in it to confirm it wasn't faked.
One of the last questions Colbert came up with was, "Now, I've heard that they say that in space, no one can hear you scream. Is that true? Can you scream for us?"
Astronaut, Garrett by the way, said, "Sure, no problem." and he did. Okay, granted he took his finger off the tranmit button but still it was a truly geeky moment and it was beautiful.
He made quite a show of it.
