TOP FIVE MEMORABLE J-DO ENDING/OST SONGS!

Jul 24, 2014 23:43

So, here goes my very first TOP FIVE post! So this journal would be more like a journal. (teehee)

In this post, I will be talking typing about my most memorable ED/OST songs ever. To be honest, I've only watched a couple of j-dramas in my whole fangirl life,so probably I have little knowledge about other "greater" stuff out there. But moving on... The songs that are listed here are probably here because... 1) I enjoyed the drama very much and so whenever I hear the song it gives me the feels, 2) I had the LSS phase with the songs, 3) and lastly, the songs are just really awesome! Note: All the songs here are sang by non-JE artists, but that's just purely coincidence.

Let's start with the TOP 5 song: Honto Wa Ne by Okumura Hatsune

This ED song is from the drama, Seigi no Mikata. (2008)

I like this song because it has that soft, gentle feeling to the ears. The singer, Okumura Hatsune, has that raspy voice that not all Japanese female singers possess. Usually, I would hear high-pitched, cutesy singing voices but hers was very strong and I like it. The song also has nice lyrics to match with the country song-like tune.
Here's the PV of the song:

With my Top 4 is: Take Me Home by Cash Cash

This song is part of 49's OST.

Now this song, is very popular. When I say POPULAR, I mean I hear it everywhere. I love this song very much because it reminds me a lot of 49 and it has that very catchy beat. I would always hear it in TV shows in local channels. When that happens, I would reminisce all the wonderful moments from this j-drama. This is also the ONLY english song in the top 5 list. English songs being part of japanese dramas' OSTs are kind of a trend right now, especially with those teenager-type of genre ones.

Top 3 song! dun dun dun: Stand by Me by The Brilliant Green

This is the ED song of Tantei Gakuen Q.

What I like about this song the most are the lyrics and Tomoko's strong voice. Whenever I hear this song, it has that "ahh, what a nice resolve/ending" feeling for me in every episode. It was just the right song to use to indicate a case solved by the little detectives! (LOL)

(To add, I also enjoy TGQ's OP song by Flow entitled Answer. Here's the live performance by Flow:

I rarely skip the OP song of any dorama I watched and this one was the best and most memorable for me.)

Infinity by GIRL NEXT DOOR lands on Top 2!

It's the ED song of Atashinchi no Danshi.

Like any of the other ED song in this list, it was that song which was the best for this kind of drama. It gives that vibe of "Oh, episode over. That was fun, wasn't it?" This was one of my favorite dramas, mainly because of the beautiful and wonderful ensemble cast and touching storyline with awesome character development. It also has the right amount of funky and upbeat tune that makes you want to dance to it!

And finally! Winner of most memorable J-Do song ever (for me, that is) is none other than My Sunshine by Rock'A'Trench!

(Woah, the cover art for this single is... very eye-catching.)
This song is the ED song of Mei-chan no Shitsuji.

This drama was one of the most memorable for me (the truth is most of what I watched are, lolol) but it's not part of my favorites. I loved it especially because of the cast (again with the cast, huh?). Though I was still pretty much new to the world of j-do when I first watched this drama. The song definitely stayed with me for a while and made me experience one of the ultimate LSS ever. I used to sing this back then, and this is only one of the other songs in the list that I had almost memorized because I truly loved it! Rock'A'Trench is not the kind of band I would usually listen to, but this song just gets me, you know? I love the guitar-playing in this song, too. But one that makes this song truly unforgettable for me is it's one of those few song I know and usually play in Drum Mania (a drum-game in a nearby arcade center).

Wow, well, that was fun! I could say I did enjoy making this list and getting lost with the many links I had to prepare for all the photos and videos! I hope you enjoy reading this one too? Go listen to the songs if you haven't! See (or hear?) for yourself! I don't think I have a bad taste in music, but who knows? 'Til the next Top 5! (And wow, this took almost a year to be publicly published. Happy New Year, guys! Here's to a happy 2015!)

drama, rambling: top 5
