A perfectly ordinary evening.

Back in England.

Well, we've been back for a few days now. We just didn't post about it because Iceland was too much fun for spending lots of time on the internet!

Anyway, my wife has vanished.

Well, I say "vanished", I mean she's gone out for dinner with some friends.

Knowing her, she has probably found some trouble and is busy saving the universe right at this very moment. I have my eye on my phone, just in case.

And what am I - the old and wise and otherworldly genius that I am - doing while Rose is absent, you may wonder? Bird-sitting, mostly. And eating cake. I'm also occasionally adding another couple of words to an article I promised to write for the university critiquing someone's theory about black holes (and considering asking Wall-E to finish writing it for me, since it's a bit dull). I'm also mentally debating the best way to deal with the hole in the lab wall (don't ask), but taking any sort of action will disturb the plate of cake on my knee so the hole is sticking around for a bit longer.

I wonder when Rose will be back. If she's too much longer, there won't be any cake left.

my life needs more cake, where is rose?, eggbert the genetically re-engineered do, university work, being human, my life is very normal
