Our walk in the rain turned into a drive in the rain. Well, Rose did the driving. Something about not wanting speeding tickets, but since I've never had one I think she's just being rude.
We ended up driving at top speed in a south easterly direction and, once out of London, around a lot of winding country roads. There may have been some singing along to the radio, but I haven't got any evidence of this because Rose was not impressed with the idea of me taking a recording to share. Even after I promised to sing loudly enough and drown her out.
Anyway, we ended up in Kent and we saw a sign for the Lullingstone Roman Villa, so did a quick tour. I don't think the tour guide was too impressed with us. But we have both been to Ancient Rome, and it hardly seemed polite to let him continue under some of his misapprehensions.
Following this historical digression, a pub dinner was in order, so we scoured the local area looking for a suitable one (which, as we were scouring the English countryside, took approximately five seconds). Chips and pie and spotted dick for afters for me, and I couldn't eat another thing. Probably. Not for a bit, anyway.
We're back home now, but I think at some point we need to do a tour of the English countryside and stay at a different B&B every night. Or in a tent! Ooh, we could go camping! That would be fun when the weather's a bit better.
Not sure what to do now, since I had rather a late morning today and I'm not at all tired. Maybe spend a bit of time in the lab.... Are you tired yet, Rose?
