Stupid work
Ok, so today I am attending a luncheon to honor faculty and staff with 10 years of service. Great. Wonderful.
What annoys me about it is... for the purposes of a piece of paper and a free lunch, they are more than happy to count my graduate TA years as years of service. For purposes of benefits, they don't count unless I give them money. i.e. purchase prior years of service credit. Which is expensive. Most annoying.
