I left university about a few months ago (flew home on June 5th) and found myself desperately wanting some break from things. Studies, endless work, and on-going worries. To cut the story short, I underwent a really exhausting and grueling but pretty illuminating job-seeking journey. It was pretty confusing too, and I think I somehow worried my parents when I told them "I'll just go for things that could use my degree". I felt nauseated by what I studied, and I seriously don't feel like going along with Science. It might not be the same for every other place, but it's riddled with hypocrisy in where I am. Needless to say, I wanted to run away and leave the whole field.
So I applied for various positions, mostly sales and business, but also a few for miscellaneous stuff like online content management and a few for editorial/journalism. I was rather excited and yet nervous for the interviews, though I had prepare some answers for questions like 'why do you choose this field?", "how do you compensate with your lack of familiarity in this field?" and "how much do you think you can dedicate for the job". Man, first job is hard. You start by telling yourself "I must get a job" and when you do start to get a job you wonder where you should start. Then you'll be wondering whether that's the right job for you. I went to interviews with a mindset that I should left my university atrocities behind, but one offer strike me. They are asking for food journalists and I'm, apparently the perfect candidate. So I took up the offer and now -
I just cannot believe what was written on my name card. XD
Looks like no big deal, but a few months ago it looks like a mere chance for a hobby, and now it's my occupation.
