Gemma wouldn't be allowed to participate in a normal auction, though they might do a version at the anti-gay camp because they're stupid and think a fake auction will made the kids there heterosexual...somehow. Maybe it's like their final exam to prove how totally not gay they are now?

How would Gemma get out of that? Probably some act of violence, or possibly...well, I had the idea that each girl up for auction gives a little speech about why they should pick her. Sort of "beauty pageant" non-answer BS like "I'm friendly and know how to cook." And I can imagine Gemma, when it's her turn, just grabbing the microphone and saying "You know what? I'm not going to put up with this BS anymore" and listing all the humiliations they've had to endure. And then ending with something like "I like girls, and there's nothing. Wrong. With. Me." And storming off the stage in style in her fancy ballgown (followed by, like, all the other girls if she's sufficiently inspiring).

This would be in contrast with Wren, who may or may not be too scared to get out of her auction. Oh, I can imagine a pretty big fight between the two girls when Wren's chosen to go up for "sale."
