Sir Fred Goodwin's home attacked
The Edinburgh home of former Royal Bank of Scotland boss Sir Fred Goodwin has been attacked by vandals overnight.

This is about optics/perception and survival. some of the financial elite did no wrong, many of them probably hold some sort of liberal beliefs, But the system is set up in such a way that fundamentally questioning where the money comes from is verboten. The money comes from a disparity of access to information in both quality, and speed. They are the gatekeepers of the bloodflow of the economy, and up to a point that is neccessary. The problem is that The parasite keeping the system lean has become the system.
Some of these Actors have engaged in elaborate shell games blurring the line between legal and illegal. That race to make profits in the margins has the unfortunate side effect of making Everyone in The game look like a con artist, whether they were or not. people who were making safe sensible deals get lumped in with city wideboys. Those are the Optics, they're crooks.
The sensible actors never did anything wrong but they fall into the category of Banker, which ranks just below paedophile in the top Ten hate list. They feel entitled to what they earned.
At the same Time The Masters of the universe want to protect the racket they've been running, they want to keep privatizing profits and nationalising losses, They want to keep their privileges. These crooks are sociopaths, society's rules don't apply to them.
The sensible actors provide legitimacy for the demands of the con artists holding a gun to the public's head. the Banksters can't be negotiated with, and holding a gun to the head of the public while demanding concessions is like stealing the dinner of a starving dog and then taunting it with a stick. Phase changes occur rapidly and chaotically, they are not pretty and very messy, behaviour like this primes the social system's equilibrium to collapse and provides nucleation sites.
If those sensible actors want to avoid the fate of French aristocrats They might want to make with the humble, forgo compensation (after all they made out quite well over the last 10 years) and break the social contract of the top 5% e.g. Don't acknowledge and punish crimes it makes us look illegitimate in front of the plebs. There's going to be torches and pitchforks. It would be better if it was contained within the banking community, bankers on bankers, but it depends on willingness to expose the lie that all their privileges are %100 deserved.
