Norriture d'Aujourd'hui (I probably mispunctuated that)

Apr 28, 2008 17:39

Lunch: Last of the pasta with peas.

Dinner: Leftover homemade eggdrop soup. A slice of bread with hummus on it. I noticed that the hummus has expired. It still looks and smells perfectly fine, but I should probably try to finish it off tomorrow and chuck whatever I don't eat. If I develop food poisoning this evening I will just throw it away.

It turns out I don't have a can of peaches in the pantry after all. I only have cranberry sauce and pears. My roommate thinks I should make pear cobbler, but I don't feel like making pear cobbler. Maybe I will feel like it tomorrow.

Inventory of ingredients (from memory, potentially incomplete):
Frozen veggies: corn (lots), broccoli (plenty), cauliflower (I think), wax beans (haven't seen them in ages but I know I didn't finish them so they must be in there somewhere), peas (unsure how many)
Bread, four slices
Flour
Olive oil
Sugar (white, brown, and confectioner's)
Carob powder
Pear halves, 1 can
Butter, 2 and then some sticks salted and I believe less than one stick unsalted
Mayonnaise
Veggie better-than-boullion paste
Instant rice
Plain couscous
Baking powder and soda
Onions
Potatoes
Milk
Assortment of spices
6oz can of tuna
Can of black beans
Almond butter
Garlic
Frozen lemon juice

I plan to purchase:
Asparagus
Egg noodles
More milk
Tempeh
Cheese, probably either cheddar or monterey jack
Apples (to eat, not to cook with)

I solicit from all of you recipes that will use up the ingredient inventory without adding (at least too much, or anything that I can't use up with the one recipe) to my grocery list. These recipes must be pescetarian (read: vegetarian, but seafood is okay), although if it calls for ground meat I can use the tempeh as a substitute. I don't have fancy dishes, but I do have square baking pans, frying pans, two pots, the usual forks/knives/spoons, and an assortment of cooking utensils. I have a springform pan, too, in the unlikely event that there's a non-cheesecake recipe out there calling for one.
