Sorry I haven't gotten around to posting about my wedding. Things have been a little hectic since we got home last week & with trying to get my apartment all organize (which it's not even close to being...) I haven't taken the time to sit down and write about the big day.
The events all started friday. I went to lunch with my mom and my MIL. Then we headed off to get manicures and pedicures. It was fun and really relaxing which was nice. Then that night we had our rehearsal dinner at Cowboy Grub. We had about 60 people there. It was nice to have everyone there. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves (well everyone except one table who had someone get sick.... yeah I wouldn't have enjoyed it either...)
Saturday started out around 10 when we started setting up for the reception. We found out that we had been shorted table clothes and that they had sent some wrong linens. Shaun was supposed to come help setup, but he didn't end up showing up so that made me upset, but luckily there were enough people there to help get it set up for quickly. After getting all setup I had to head to South Jordan to get my hair done (which turned out cute and they didn't charge me to do it!). When I got done there I heading back home to do my make up and then to head to the bank to get money for my florist. Then it was off to meet the florist at the church to get my flowers (which turned out good... for the most part). Then to his uncles house to have her put the flowers on my cake, which she just had to show me what to do with them since my cake hadn't showed up when she needed to leave.
jenderelly was nice enough to put on my cake for me. Thanks Jen!. Then it was time to get dressed, which I ended up having to do at the church because his brother got in the shower in the room that I was going to get dressed in (his brother and sister in law were staying at his uncle house because they were getting ready to move to Seattle and no longer had their apartment. Anyhow..). So we all jumped in a car (my mom, my MIL, and my aunt Cindy) and headed to the church to get ready. My mom dropped us off so that she could finish getting ready (she ended up getting a speeding ticket on the way back...). So my MIL and my aunt Cindy helped me get dressed. After some work we got me in my dress and I was ready to get married... At least I thought...
My aunt Brenda had stayed at the house to wait for Granite to get there with the cake and some of the refreshments. At 4:15 when she had left to head over to the ceremony the cake was still not there. We called and the truck had broken down... Not cool... By the time we got back to the house it was there, but it still makes me mad that they were so late getting it there.
Then there was the fact that my mom still wasn't back. She did finally show up and as they went to pin her corsages onto her the rose fell onto the floor and the bottom on the rose was all black.. Not happy about that either...We ended up stealing my grandma's so that we could have one that looked nice.
Oh and then my photographer was late. We were all ready to walk in the room when I realized that I hadn't seen my photographer yet... So I started to freak out... Luckily by the time that we decided that we were going to have his brother take the pictures she showed up... Another things that freaked me out, but worked out in the end...
The ceremony was now beginning. Shaun and my bishop walked in. My parents walked in. Shaun's parents walked in. Then I realized that I didn't have Shaun ring. It was still sitting in my bag in the room I had gotten dressed in. So I race into the room to find it and of course, because I am in a hurry I can't find it! I know that I have put it in there so I keep looking and finally I found it. By this time my dad was back and ready to escort me in and was wondering what I was doing... I told him and he understood. Then my bishop welcome everyone and here comes the bride starts to play and I started to walk down the aisle. The ceremony was really nice. We had our dad say a few words and the bishops say a few words and then we were married! It was short and sweet! My dad started to cry when he was speaking, which made me cry, but I know it's because he loves me and just wants the best for me.
The reception was really nice. A lot of people came and luckily the weather stayed nice. We cut the cake and throw the bouquet and garter and then we were up stairs getting ready to head to Logan for the weekend. There were a few people that came after we had changed and then we were on our way to gets Shaun's car so we could head to Logan.
Shaun had packed the 4-Runner at the data center for the company that he is currently working for so that no one would decorate it. But don't you worry, Shaun had told some of his co-workers where he parked it so they went and decorated it.
Our weekend in Logan was really nice. It was nice to finally be married and to be able to start our lives together. We spent the weekend at the Providence Inn, which is like the Anniversary Inn. It was a nice little getaway!
