Met Lacuna Coil
My day with Lacuna Coil(with pics) Someone please show me how to close the new style of lj-cuts!
Saturday I went to Lacuna Coil's acoustic show in KC. It was really great. Chris was out pretty much when we got there, setting up and everything. He was really nice. He messed around and tuned the guitars for awhile...I was 2 feet away but I was so nervous so I didn't say anything. Every once in awhile he'd look up and wave and I'd smile and take some pictures.
I love the LC necklaces...need to get one.
Next Marco entered, and did about the same thing as Chris. They did a bit of jamming. Their matching guitars were so cool. I want one of them! They were there with that one roadie that they've had for six years-who was really nice to me and smiled and said hello. I think everyone was nice to me partly because I was one of the youngest people there(aside from a little girl that looked to be about 8 there with her parents) and they could tell I was really into it. Half the time they were speaking Italian though, and I really only understood every other word of that, so we all just sort of smiled and waved to eachother(they spoke English when we actually talked to eachother, of course).
^There's the nice roadie in the corner. You can see him for a split second in the on the road video with Karmacode. All the roadies were nice to me, but him especially. There was this one female with them that kept on rushing by while I tried to take pics though...and she messed up some I took of Cristina and Marco...but she was really nice though.
Chris messed around and checked the vocals. It was amusing for some reason.
I got there around 2:30, and they were setting up and tuning until about 3:15-3:20 when Andrea and Cristina entered. They were very nice(like everyone) and they thanked everyone for coming out, told us the basics and all. The first song they played was Unspoken(from Comalies). I thought it was really great that they played a song that wasn't off the new album. I thought maybe they would have played Our Truth, but I'm glad they didn't because everyone's heard that song, and it's not one of my favourites. When Cristina entered I remember thinking, "Wow. That's the most gorgeous woman in the world and she's right in front of me." During the set Andrea kept looking at me(I could see his eyes past the sunglasses). The song was so gorgeous, they all were(of course). During I think all of the songs(there were 3) Andrea would sing some of Cristina's background parts or whatever you want to call them and sometimes hhe'd sing really high and he did it really well. They're wonderous singers.
After Unspoken they spoke a little more, asked who all was going to the show and everything. Then they played Within Me which I knew they would play because they even said in an interview it's the most important song on Karmacode and it's my favourite song on the album. It was so beautiful. I didn't take much pictures of it because I was too busy starring at the band(mostly Andrea) and mouthing the words. I can't express how incredible it was.
I like this next picture a lot for one reason or another.
Next the band talked a bit more, and they started to play Closer. Well, they got about 30 seconds in and then Marco's cell phone went off. So here are some pictures of everyone laughing and being embarrassed. Andrea started to come up with silly excuses. First they were like, "You see, we were trying to make it so the ringtone of his cell phone went with the rhythm of the song and made a cool sequence. Unfortunately he could not say that with a straight face and the rest of the band was laughing at him. Then Andrea said, "Hey, you never know-it could of been a very important call. Maybe it was Metallica or something asking to do a tour with us." which got several cheers.
So then they started the song over and completed the set without more interruptions.
So then the band said, "We'll see you over there."(pointing to the signing table) and that's when Maus and Criz came out, looking sharp. The band talked for minute in a corner. I took some pics while stalking them in the corner while everyone else scurried to find a place in the autograph line(mum had been waiting in line the entire time for me so I didn't have to worry) but I didn't upload them due to the horrid quality. So I took awhile to find my mom and then I saw her and she was like 4th in line. While we were standing Criz and Marco flashed some grins and posed for the camera and winked at me, but somethings desperately wrong with my camera, so those didn't turn out well. Then I got posters signed for friends and the Karmacode cover signed for me. Maus was first in line and I was like, "I'm sorry, there are 3 'cause I had to get something for my friends." He went, "Oh my God." and then sort of laughed and smiled. Everyone shook my hand and said, "Nice to meet you." and, "Thanks for coming." and that sort of thing. My mom took these, and I cut myself out of them.
We went and looked at some books for awhile, then I went to the back again and they were finishing up signing and taking some pictures. I took the courtesy of taking pictures of them with people I don't know.
So then I was standing off to the side and I started having a conversation with the guy I had been sitting next to during the set, and then he asked if I'd taken any pictures with the band, and I was like, "Well, no..." and he was like, "Well, they're still here. I mean, they're right over there, so you still can. You want to?" and I was so nervous, so I just said, "I don't know..." and then I dropped one of my CDs and it fell out of the case, so I bent down to get my stuff together and the guy goes over to Andrea and says, "Would you like to take a picture with the young lady over there? She seems to have dropped her CD so it will be a moment, but I think she'd like a picture with you." and of course Andrea says, "Well yes, of course." So then I stand up and the guy pushes me up to Andrea, grabs my camera, asks how to work it, and then Andrea puts his arm around me and we both smile for the picture and I feel like I'm about to start crying. So then I thank Andrea, and he says thankyou to both of us and smiles and everything and I walk over to my mom who apparently was watching the entire time.
Good pic of him, bad pic of me. So then Criz and Marco go out for a cigarette and the rest of the band goes around the store looking at books and having some down time. I walked by Marco quite a few times and he took off his sunglasses and winked at me and said hello each time. Later I spotted Andrea looking at some magazines and I considered taking some pictures, but I thought that might be rude, so I just stood and starred forever thinking about how gorgeous and incredible he is. That was my Saturday.
