Forks, Washington -- Sunday Afternoon

Mar 31, 2013 06:41

It was Easter Sunday, but the Cullens weren't particularly religious and so their celebration of it had been limited to doing things for Renesmee -- an Easter basket, hiding eggs, that sort of thing. But being Cullens, there'd been the typical going overboard. Rosalie had included the keys to a new car in the basket, for example, and Emmett had hidden the (thankfully plastic) eggs up a damn tree.

But that was done, and now the family had separated to their respective activities around the house. Edward was at the piano, Rosalie and Emmett were outside with Renesmee looking at the new car, and... well, Alice wasn't sure where everybody else was, though she could of course pick them out if she had the inclination. And sometimes she did, but right now she was more than content to stretch out on a couch in the living room with a book.

The conversation had come up before how they'd have to move on from Forks in a few years, but for now they were all content to stay right where they were. Especially her, she decided as she turned a page in her book. She'd grown surprisingly fond of the small, sleepy town. Rosalie had been the most surprised about that, given that Forks had a surprising lack of the shopping that Alice so loved. But it was Renesmee's home, which meant that they would all stay as they quite possibly could.

She wasn't sure what made her think of that on this day of all days, other than it was a day for family and it was a fact of reality that her family couldn't stay there forever. But they'd worry about that another day.

Today, they would just be themselves.

(Open for phone calls, texts, emails, visits if anybody wants to have dragged themselves out to Forks, you name it!)

even easter goes overboard, the rest of the family, alice
