So summer is hot. Not news, but uncomfortable, year after year. I don't do much, I just clean the house and read. I've read some really great books already, though - Cannery Row and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, which is stellar. Next it's on to The Poisonwood Bible, so we'll see how it goes. I like Barbara Kingsolver though - Prodigal Summer is one of my favorite books ever.
At least this summer I have a bigger bed. My parents redid my bedroom and it looks baller, nothing like the massacre I waged for eighteen years. The bathroom, too, which my brother and I had both spent previous lifetimes defiling.
I'm trying to get a new desktop computer at the end of summer. It's not that I don't love this laptop or that it has not served my purposes well, but it's a laptop, and laptops have a shorter lifespan than desktops. This one is already getting to be a crotchedy old man (yes, even though its name is Brunhilde, it is still a dude). It would be nice to have a desktop for Serious Business and a laptop for just writing essays in the library and the like.
That's my life.
Also, Steve, your mother Facebook friended me. What is the polite thing to do? Friend her back and let her see the abomination of a human being with whom her only son is comrades, or deny her...deny her to save her?
